I have the Galaxy S4 ( some one gave it to me as a gift ).. and sadly I do have it...

The battery life is too bad, the worst smartphone battery life I've ever used !!...

and some times I have to restart it coz it becomes crazy and drains the battery even thought I closed all running apps. it's on the charger and the battery keeps draining... and the phones is really hot !! I mean really... no seriously really hot.. yes I can hold it but the temperature is unpleasantly high... the only solution for it is to restart it !!

I don't know about the Snapdragon based one as the one I have is the Octacore Exynos...

I still didn't received the warranty paper so I can't yet go the dealer to see what the hell is with it

I really hate it !! but I'm forced to keep it till Sony's next flagship comes and I'll sell it...

@fbloise

Z camera is good, battery is fine to last me the day easily, better than other androids I've had so far.

Xperia Z has the advantage over the other phones in design and waterproofing. If they aren't that important to you then consider the others. If they are important to you, you have no choice, Z wins every time.

Perhaps the S4 AOSP is a nice option. I wouldn't touch iOS if it was given to me as a gift.

The downfall of Z is the screen, most laymen will say it's beautiful and whatever whatever, but to anyone with an astute eye it is only bearable. Hate to mention the dreaded viewing angles because the term isn't really accurate to what the phenomenon is. You should really try a live handset in a shop to judge the screen, if you can deal with it then buy it I say.

He means promised and required update to 4.2.

I don't know what are you talking about the screen.
I could compare it to all leading devices like iPhone 5, SGS etc.
There is no quality difference, and in the gallery it's even better than the competition.

For me the update is great. The battery is very stable and slightly better than before.
I am also happy about the camera performance. I do alot of difficult lighting shots lately
and discovered that I can do it without a worry...

Nope, I think the software isn't ready yet, Samsung had two things in mind
1- Launch with 4.2
2- Meet the deadline

They didn't have the time to optimize the big.LITTLE thing, and that's why the launch firmware has these problems... the problem is Samsung released it unfinished.. sometimes when you don't have time, just turn off non important features and focus on the core things or just delay or bring another SKU ( like the ready Snapdragon one )... but Samsung thinks that their TouchWiz things are better than core experience !!

Guys,

The new firmware "10.1.1.A.1.253" is available in India. Just saw it on their site. Will try to update it tonight.

What fw is your GS4 on? I'm on XXUAMDE and battery life has been simply outstanding, only heat up I get is when playing HD games or taking long HD1080P videos.

The affected regions seem to have recieved a XXUAMDE1 Kies and OTA update to fix the issues, so just try updating your phone through one of them.
