mine is a intregrated 1 tht is together with my laptop .... sorry i cant help .. good luck .

What windows version are you using? I've got a Hoya Ir Wave and it works ok on windows 98, 98 office and xp. Try not to turn your ir on from the connect menu. Instead, on the background screen, press options and then recieve item. Make sure your driver for windows is correctly installed first, then pair the devices. Had a bit of problems with xp at first but there's something you must change in the settings. Can't really remember what right now. Like orang3 said, check if there's the ir icon on your taskbar. If it isn't, try reinstalling an updated version of the ir driver which should be able to download from the company's website.
