And Z2 is on par with competition ? ROFL !!!
There is not even a single device in market that can stand up to Xperia Z2 .
Say we compare the Z1 with the competition at the time of its release. Those would be the G2 and the Note 3. Z1 was clearly behind battery life, display quality, even image and video quality. Full res 20.7 MP was useless when you have too much noise when zoomed in, so it was effectively an 8 MP shooter since it was the next resolution available before 4.4. Video quality, well, was sh*t.
The Z2 may be a bit ahead, just a bit, so I say on par with the S5 and M8.

I have to admit Sony has been gaining lots inertia from at least my circle of friends/family. One year ago, it was either apple or Samsung phones n fast forward one year n they all bought new Sony phones! Z, z1, sp even my younger cousin got the xperia m. Main reason is they don't want to follow the crowd with another plastic samsung n they didn't want apple again cos of the closed system. Now, everyone I know is proud to be a Sony owner n I think it's this sort of inertia that will lead to more sales. Word of mouth is what got samsung n apple to where they r now n word of mouth will get Sony back in the game. |

As it seem nothing can't stand against Z2 except component shortage

None of things you mentioned is true(and don't quote me gsmarena or PA further)
I don't wanna explain everything just to start a useless discussion.
You are being seriously biased my friend ! |

He is not biased! He is just stating the truth... If we analyse the latest 3 device we can see that Z and Z1 were clearly behind competition!
The Z was a LOT behind! It just had the merit of being the first device launched with a FHD screen and IP57 rating... But it had subpar display, subpar battery life, average camera and MOST important subpar CPU (s400 instead of s600)... The design was surely great but it was still plasticky, the speaker were average at best! It didn't have flapless jack, magnetic connector or Camera Shutter Button! I mean in the same time there were the HTC ONE and the Galaxy s4!!!
Then came the Z1! It was ahead in design language (finally metal) and IP58, flapless 3,5 jack and shutter button! But still it had subpar screen which drained TOO MUCH battery! And the battery itself wasn't massive! It didn't have Stereo Speaker (which the HTC ONE had 6 months before!)... It had a great camera (better than the HTC ONE but on par with the S4 beacause of noise!)... Finally Sony were on par with the CPU! But stil they were lacking sound, battery and screen to be a beast!
And now the Z2! Which has the BIGGEST battery, Stereo Speaker, a perfect and less consuming IPS screen and last avaible CPU...! This time IMHO Sony has really a device which is one step ahead of completion!
S5 has littler battery (but also AMOLED which are awesome for battery life), no stereo speaker and it's ugly, it has lesser RAM but more powerful CPU (just a bit)... It has GREAT camera and a lot of (unuseful) functions... I'd say it is one step behind
HTC ONE has awesome build quality (on par with the Z2), less RAM, less BATTERY, bigger bezel and littler screen, (probably) AWFUL camera, no 4K... Better Stereo Speakers, 32 GB of ROM ... I'd say it is a a LOT of steps behind...
Nosing is biased, or saying that Sony sucks, they have done BIG LEAP FORWARD with their latest devices and they should gain some market, they deserve it! I for one will be buying the Z2 for sure! |

So you quote each best feature of every competitor separately and combine them together against Z1. Is that even a fair way?
Z1 alone had too many better features to be called better than the competition !
HTC one - better speakers, screen. That's it.
Z1- better battery(and please don't quote me some gsmarena figures, xperia's reach their peak battery performance after some weeks). Better design(and also there were too many imperfections in one's design in production models), better memory, better camera, better notification light, better ui, much better processor, better gpu, water resistant, dust resistant, and a lot of other stuff !
If one compare Z1 against competition one by one than z1 comes out to be much better device. |

I took the wrong enemy for the Z1... The HTC ONE and the S4 were realised 6 month before! And still has some feature which were better than the Z1...
Z1 fought against LG G2 and Note 3... And loose...
No 4K, no OIS, no Xenon or bi-flash, inferior screen and battery life... Less RAM than Note 3... Less features than LG G2... It was king only in design department, and this is something I stated before (but it is also highly subjective)...
Anyway we have different ideas.. But at least we both think that the Z2 is a winner!
That is true! Let's agree on the Z2 and stop talking about this... There's no need... |

I am not being biased. And I believe there's nothing I could do to convince you. I was simply saying the Z1 was subpar compared to its competition, pointed out its weaknesses and stating Z2 is on par with the current competition.

i think we all have our biases. it's just that we try to be reasonable. we always have that feeling of wanting one brand to do better but we're not letting that preference for one brand to cloud our idea of what is good and what is not. i favor sony (that's why this is the only thread i've been visiting here) but i don't let that prevent my ability to be rational, to fail to see the company's misgivings. |

Before things get a little too personal regarding accusations of bias, allow me to interrupt with some comic relief:

Whoa! Whoa! Where did you get that claim Original Z use Snapdragon 400 as CPU
I would suggest you to STOP reading them completely at all.
Some differences of S4 Pro and Snapdragon 600 is resemble behavior from Qualcomm today SD800 to SD801, just a f*cking incremental upgrade. Not any leap step as manipulated media claim.
BTW, any site out there did actual test that AMOLED and IPS has better battery life than Sony TFT screen? No No please don't you mean GSMArena test, that's actual hilarious one.
the fact is up and down OLED saving more in black theme screen but consume more on white theme, TFT is other hands drain more in black.
Battery life tuning is far more complex than you would think of it.

The Xperia Z2 is clearly the best phone compared to the current flagships from other OEMs. There is no noteworthy feature from S5 or HTC one M8 that could challenge the Z2. |

Xperia Z has a S4 Pro CPU, not S400. S4 Pro is very very close in performance to S600 (S400 is significantly worse than both), just saying
And Xperia Z camera quality is actually great (after a few firmware updates). |
