There is going to be some intense competition Q1 2011 in the high end Android segment. The X12 doesn't really look to be much better than anything that is "rumored" to be announced, which is why they need to be one of the first to market. I remember when the X10 was announced, it was near the top spec-wise, but when it was released, it was lost in a market of similarly equipped handsets running newer software. I hope that doesn't happen this time.

Megapixels is not all in a camera. I would worry more of the optics. Everything above 5-6 megapixels is not visible on a ordinary computerscreen unless you wanna make a big poster of it!! |

It is not about making sense or not and S006 already has it, it is about giving us Sony's latest technology instead of always giving us inferior crappy hardware. |

Don't know what you're talking about. I can still see all the noise from my pictures that was taken from my DSLR on my monitor. But, of course, I have a 27" monitor running at a 1920 x 1200 resolution. |

More pixels wont mean you get less noise thats completely different. i really feel sorry for people who actually think more megapixels on my camera will get me better pics. i have seen 2mp cameras outshine 5mp cameras in picture quality many times.

Do hope that message is not directed towards me and you got my sarcasm. One more thing, I wasn't talking about the picture quality.

Ok first of all what makes this new 16.4 mp sensor any different than any other that Sony has released that people seem to suggest that it will NOT be used by SE ?
Last year when Sony released the 12mp sensor, I guess after three or four months the Satio came out with that new sensor. And the same shall be the case with this new 16.4mp sensor. There will be atleast one model with this sensor in the first half of 2011 and later more models might have this sensor.
Now coming to the Anzu, I mentioned earlier that I recieved an update that the Anzu may be getting the 16.4 mp sensor with Xenon Flash. This is the last info I have received about the Anzu.
So the Anzu might have the 16.4 mp EXMOR R sensor. MIGHT is the keyword here
Anyways now on to the bad news. Apparently Gingerbread is delayed and so is the Nexus S . I guess that could mean delay in announcement or perhaps an announcement at CES 2011 :cryl
Just hope this does not happen |

How exactly does one change camera modules halfway through the development cycle? Different modules have different physical dimensions and to fit a bigger module in after the design is frozen and protos are made, a near complete redesign is required.
I'm not saying it's impossible, just improbable. |

Yup but did u check the size of the 16.4 mp module? Its almost the same (infact a little smaller) than the 12 mp module Sony has .
And also the sensor is made for 1080p 30 fps video recording.
