the newest beta removed SMan from my apps list in FC mode. I don't know if there is a limit of FC programs or not, but I already have more programs than numbers. |

Hmm so far everything is working fine but I keep getting a message when running the bluejack module that it cannot find the file used to bluejack.
Edit: Nevermind I've sorted it

A few restarts sorted my problem out and now SMan is back to its old position in the Apps list.

This was the one feature I really wanted and I am so glad it was added. Thanks. |

@ ajack & droll:i don't mean to complain, but since it has become apparent from the beta 6 that certain options are allowed only if supported by the hardware profile, may i ask why there is no SE profile, just Moto? It's no biggie, I just created a new HW profile, selected all options and activated it. consequently, the reboot, hotkey and autostart options (and others as well) are no longer grayed out and may be used. however, there will surely be some users that won't be able to figure this out and you'll have lots of questions directed at you. so, is there any particular reason why there is no SE profile currently? |

Two new things I noticed:
There aren't any P-series phones listed in the hardware profile. There is an option to create my own profile, but I don't honestly know which features each phone supports. The program seems to work just fine on Autodetect, but I am assuming users make up a good portion of the audience for this product and shouldn't feel like they were ignored.

The hardware profiles are only there because SMan can't tell the various Motorola models apart. That is why, in the SysInfo, we identify the Motorolas as "MotoUIQ" and not A920/A925/A1000 becuase they all share the same UID. Yet, have different hardware/features.
So, Motorola users need to tell SMan what model their UIQ is which is why we have the hardware profiles for them and SE's P series works correctly in "auto detect" mode. The plus to this is that when a new model of UIQ is release between SMan versions, we can just release a hardware profile for that device and SMan can enable/disable any feature that can/can't be used by the new model.
You can also disable stuff if you want, assumeing you know what each description is.

This was Ajack's response to me earlier in this thread when I brought that up |

@knight4led: thanks for that. however, the autodetect function in beta 6 and SE P910i DO NOT WORK. The options are grayed out. I had to create a new profile in order to be able to use certain functions. |

as far as I know only beta 5 has been released. that is what I have right now, and my phone seems to do just fine in auto detect mode. If all else fails you can create a hardware profile and others can download it I suppose. |

@knight4led: This is exactly what I did: I created a new HW profile and activated it and evrything is fine. However, I'll do some tweaking and looking around the forums to see what particular options in that profile SHOULD NOT be activated for P910 (i.e. "Has Time Synch Zone Bug", "Has Fized Width Font", "Has App List Bug", which I'm not sure about).
P.S. Sman14beta6.zip can be downloaded from www.my-symbian.com/forum (I hope I don't burn in the eternal flames of hell for mentioning my-symbian). If this is a NO-NO here at esato, I humbly beg for forgivness. |

that must have come out just after I downloaded from the same place. Barely an hour difference between Ajack's and Droll's posts. Its hard to stay up to date I suppose... |

my bad i was optimizing the hardware detection code to make it smaller and made an oversight on 3 or 4 options on the p910 (they were wrongly set to disabled). fixed that in the latest beta.
i've also managed to get one more new feature working. just sent a build to ajack. i'll wait for him to test it out and let him post it in the forums. |

sounds good. glad to see that this was just a small oversight, not a large problem. |
