What Cellphone have a review of the Z1010. They gave it 91%. They use Vodafone 3G & 3. They dont like the size/weight or camera that much. They do like the phone. They also give an indication that Vodaphone 3G isnt fully working.

Its the What Cellphone july mag. The headline reads "exclusive! Best 3G mobile ever! In depth test of Sony Ericsson's Z1010 video mobile on Vodafone 3G!". Also calls the LG U8110 a "Summer stunner!". The external screen says "vodaphone uk". It looks fat too.

The is alot of Trial Vodafone Z1010 units going about. But Voda announced that they will release the 3g service in time for XMAS. Due to the fact that they want it to be international video calling and not a walled garden like 3 is. But I think I will buy that mag tomorrow just to see what happening. |

The front covers kewl with two Z1010's. Looks like video clips will be more expensive on Vodafone @ 75p compare to 3's 50p.

Its in the mag mate. Also talks about the download speed on Vodafone 3G being slower than 3.

One thing of concern within the article is the comment on signal strength, and the fact that the phone has difficulty getting a 3G signal when other phones don't. It may be due to the fact that it is a pre-production trial handset.
My experience with the T68i and T610 is one that leads me to believe that SE phones do NOT have the best reception and lag behind Nokia, Siemens and Samsung. I hope this is not repeated on the Z1010. |

3g Singal is being pretty cool for me and all my SE phones. Siemens tended to give me a headache after talking for a while. But hey I only owned a Nokia once (not proud to say it), and the signal again was kinda shitty but that could have been my flat. So that leaves me to say if they tested it on vodafones network then its obvious the signal wasnt goin to be that good. Just remember 3g is far from 2g reception so I dont think its the model of the phone but the networks themselves to blame. |

If ynu use 3 you relise that signal is a problem with all phones. The 3 network comes and goes. I can sometimes use 3G video services, but when I try dialling in 3G area it tell me Ive got no signal! On the plus side Ive just been upgraded to A925 for free!

I have no doubt that the networks are more to blame for signal strength than the phones themselves, but as we know each experience is personal. I have switched from my trusty and much loved T610 to a Nokia 7210, reception quality has improved significantly. I am on T-Mobile at present and one can blame it for the performance but a friend who has a T630 on O2 also says he has noticed a considerable deterioration of service since switching across from the Nokia 6310i. However as the phones themselves are so good and well featured, you kind of don't mind. |
