You're welcome + (not knowing any of your 'circumstances'...) Maybe wait for k800 etc... A lot of great phone's coming soon, and even if too expensive, or not available for you, their release should bring down prices for both k750 and w800 even further.
Later...

Wow, haven't seen action on this thread for a while!
Your going to be waiting for the K800i for a while yet, especially if you want them on Pay as you go! Post pay - maybe next Autumn.
@Maggflodd, been reading a few of your comments from the past few days. The W550i has NOT been removed from the Speak Easy range, Its just impossible to get hold of at the mo. That unfortunately is SE fault. It happens with Oddball Sony Ericsson models all the time.
If your getting useless info from retailers then follow a simple rule...STOP going into main outlets, Ie Vodafone or O2 retail. I can tell you from experience, you don't ever get useful info from these places. Go to independent shops. These folks know their stuff.
In terms of getting help from Irish helplines, well, these lines are useless everywhere, be it an O2 ireland help desk in Dublin or a Hutchinson 3G help centre in India. Its not just Ireland mate!
ANywho, maybe this thread might get a revival:)

Will be at home next xmas so going to buy myself a nice new mob. Hope the mob companies have got some good se's by then but im not going to hold my breath. Telstra one of the mob companies has the w810 here. id love that but it two much money for me at the mo.

Maggflodd's back. Have been busy getting on o2-ire.'s nerves for not having any real 'up'-grades for a k750-user, thus forcing good customers to buy elsewhere, losing out on upgrade bonus-credit, etc... Get this: after some heated e-mails they gave in, offering a sim-free w800 Euro100.00 cheaper PLUS Euro90.00 bonus-credit!!! Of course w800 not all that UP-grady from k750 either, but still: they actually made some effort?! Waddya think?

Hi again! Anyone here, please, what's wrong with irish networks/retailers? Here in town 2 vodafone stores, 1 meteor, 1 o2 and 'three' plus 1 independent. Between them you can currently buy v600i, k608, z520! That's se's presence here in august 2006!!! I could chose 21(!) diff. Nokias, 12 motorolas, etc. - 3 old bottom-feeding sony-ericsson! Gee, they even had a 8800 ready to go in stock at 'just' euro 749.00 but not one proper new se!!? What's with the irish? What's with se ireland? Tsss...

Bloody hell, the Irish thread is ALIVE!
well I guess that's about the most action It's gonna get for the next 6 Months!
@Maggflodd: From what I can see, based on availability of the K750i and how they are blatantly being phased out by O2, I'd say we will see the K800i as a network approved handset by the end of next month. As well as that, I would say, all going well, the P990i should be available on O2 by October 2187. Gives us a bit of time to save up! SE might have even fixed SEUS by then.

Just lurking in through the front door to say "hi" from all of the posters at the South African thread.
@Scorchio: K800i became available locally this past week, it's branded and on a ridiculous tariff.

When i eventually get home in november i am considering moving to vodafone as they already have the K800i on there site. Meteor have the W810i so i may move to them. Or else ill just stay with o2 and buy the K800i off pixmania.com for E425. that would be unbranded and i would not have to resign a contract. O2 are crap for there phone range but there are options out there!! |
