Sony has $ 5 billion to spend on videogame studios, but cant spend $20 million to order super powerful exclusive exmor for xperia? 😒

Most likely because they sell well below 2 million units now. They save the money by reusing the flagship sensor that someone has paid for development and ordered hundreds of million units. Now that they've lost Samsung its gotta be Apple  |

2 years ago mobile posted over $200 million profit according to sony told media. The revenue so far is bit higher than previous year. Even oneplus had 689/789 just for their phones.
Tech is there, just need to make smaller version of imx610, even 1/1.3" or 1/1.4" .. |

I suspect many are waiting for this series of Xperia 1 and 5 series . Sales are going to jump quite high if they did it right and proper marketing and advertisement. |

Sony needs to innovate more. The 1 series is on its 5th gen and although the tech is solid, the base concept didn't change much from the 1st gen. PRO is a good product but very niche. I think launching a foldable flagship would be exciting and provide some fresh air into Xperia, if done right I believe it would even increase the sales of other Sony phones just by increased exposure and strengthening brand. |

Revenue is higher than previous season. That is what sony cares.
Majority of sharp sales are midranges ($250-500).
Qualcomm to announce an underclocked version of 8+g1 called 7+g1.

They were announced just while ago. There is vivo phone with 4g1.
Nio phone (from car maker) is what Xperia should have been.

Basically, 4g1 and 6g1 are underclocked versions of 695 and 778 with better litography. Nothing new. Just qualcomm fooling people.
