noise in the middle of day with 4S ??? then you have serious issues with your 4S...thats for sure
full crop mid day

Sorry mate, I love to pixel peep your photo but im on mobile, and with retina, everything looks so good. My apologies on that mid day noise, i'll add mid day indoor shot noise. Those with artificial light but with windows all open that natural light still iluminate the place so bright |

the only times i got a bit noise with 4S is in lowlight (real lowlight)....
but you know what ???? it have nothing to do with the camera (image sensor or lens)....
its about the camera software on 4S....in real lowlight the cam-software push up the ISO a little bit to high.
the answer is really simple....use another cam-software in lowlight.....i use camera+ or night-cap...very good stuff.

Finally i've seen it at full resolution in a laptop, that's exactly how my phone performs, and im not happy honestly. |

one of the best things with 4S cam is it produce realistic colours.....red is red...and so on

Plankgatan, your pics are amazing! What is the version of ios? It makes diference or not? Because I use the 6.1.2 version, and my pics are not good than your photos. My phone before was Xperia Neo with dedicated button to focus. Now I have troubles focusing with 4S, so that some pictures of the Neo are better than the Iphone 4S.
