This may be considered a very insignificant characteristic of the phone....but I'll ask about it anyway: does the back of the device have that rubbery feeling the k790/k800 had? That was awesome because it helped me grip the phone.

OLED, I'm shocked wasn't the first in this real. Maybe its the speed for video & contrast that is a concern.
you're shocked? really? is this like the only thing left that they didnt improve in their phones? there are many other important things to be done before using OLED screens in their phones, think 3.5mm jacks, stereo speakers, tv-out, all are defaults in phones from nokia or samsung! shame.... |

I just hope by the time the final version of this phone they will have VGA recording. It PROBABLY has the hardware to back it up but i guess with a firmware update or something it could be activated. Or maybe at the moment there having trouble recording VGA so they put for now QVGA on the whitepaper. I dont know y tho, cuz like samsung, and nokia phones could do it already. |

To those who want everything under the sun in the C905, this would not be possible because the price would be too high if it had every single feature. It has an 8.1 mega pixel camera which is its main selling point so it would not be a good idea to release lots of new features on one phone.
Though I agree it should have an OLED display.

There is still no excuse for the omission of VGA video capture seeing as even the mid range S40 6233 had this. Still it wouldnt be SE if it didnt have sub par video capture so I shouldnt be too dissapointed.

OLED will double its price. Look at the Nokia Arte... For someone who actually wants the photos to keep rather than to have an amazing 8.1mp wallpaper, this screen is fine. Probably uses less power too (only guessing this tho).

OLED's power usage is lowest of all. And don't hope for VGA recording on this phone. It's good, but doesn't deserve a flaship title. Maybe in early 2007.. And don't try to impress me with the 8.1mpx camera (actually 7.9), it's nothing new. Anyone can interpolate a 5MPx to 8. I will believe when i will see.
Any news about the processor? Also at the (F)AQ with SE developer, they didnt give straight answeres to questions... |

@norbi, i bet it beats your k810 ! hhhmmm
why this naging ??? 8 mp camera was that. bad video recording. and so on....
is first with a cell phone with 8.1 mp camera. DLNA, etc......think its pretty awesome
and no, a 8 mp camera is not similar to a interpolated 5 mp (up to) 8 mp. it have a brand new sensor and other features who you can dream of a interpolated 5 mp - 8 mp have.....

Yay, Plank is back - Norbi V Plank - I put my money on Plank lol!
lol, Norbi - unlucky, Robin Van Persie done the damage, Buffon saved Mutu's penalty - haha!!!
Off that topic though, and completely off the beaten track - this is bound to be 007's new phone in the new 'Quantum of Solace' Movie!
Sony Alpha.

I have to agree with plankgatan. SE are indeed using a new larger sensor and better optics. |

Our estimate is that the C905 will cost around the same as the K850 did when it was released.
How much was the K850 when it was released?

I hate to be the one to do this but this WHOLE Mega Pixel race is a joke, does anyone remember the korea only samsung SCH - B600.
...
March 15, 2006 – Samsung introduced the 10 megapixel SCH-B600 camera phone at CeBIT last week. The phone comes equipped with a 3x zoom lens and a 2.2-inch LCD screen with 160,000 pixels. When users aren’t talking on it or snapping photographs, they can listen to MP3 files from the SCH-B600. In need of a scanner? No problem; the Samsung B600 camera phone also has a business card reading function. The Samsung SCH-B600 will be available in Europe and Korea within a few months.
The Samsung SCH-B600 is the first camera phone to include 10 megapixels. Cranking out camera phones with high resolution seems to be an area of strength for Samsung. It released the first 5 megapixel camera phone in October 2004, then upped the ante to release the first 7 megapixel model in July 2005. The world’s first 8 megapixel camera phone was announced in November 2005 and now Samsung tops it off with the 10 megapixel SCH-B600.
“As consumers’ needs of mobile entertainment are growing rapidly, we are continuously introducing breakthroughs in mobile phones,” said Kitae Lee, president of Samsung’s telecommunication network business, in a March 9 press release. “The SCH-B600…will satisfy mobile users who are seeking higher quality photography in his or her mobile. I would like to see our technological advances contribute to the future of this industry and improve the way of our future life style.”
Samsung OWN this contest and they did it back in 05/06.
Oh, and did anyone else notice that there is a play button?
