this behavior is happening is R1EA030 firmware
I got fw R1EA030, and when i enter file manager, all icons appear at once with no sort of animation.
However im not quite sure what animation your talking about since i started using my phone with only fw R1EA030, and did not use other fw before. |

Sorry if this it OT, please delete the post if it it, but I didn't want to start a new topic. I've read through and there seems to be a few problems with this phone, but I love how it looks and really want to buy one.
My question being, since you all already have one, would you recommend it? Or should I look for a different phone.

I assume you are talking about the W910i, yes i have had this phone for about a month now, and am very satisfied with it. I would highly recommend it!!!!! |

i think u also taking abt the same. when u enter into the filemanager all icons appear at the same time not one element falling after other(we can observe this animation when u enter into the organiser menu,games menu,settings menu, which is present in t old f/w R1CA039 ).
but the same animation is removed in somany places like filemanager,contacts, etc.
this animation is is present in all other SE phones.
but this kinda animation is unique SE phones, since its a high end phone why they removed such nice cool animation.
so i can conform that the file manager animation is removd in R1EA030 f/w,
kopstar : my be it can be added/updated to the modification/bug list of the first page. so that SE can notice it.

another bug i observed.
-when last call cost appears in the display till you acknowledge the message no new message tone will be played. as soon as acknowledge the last call cost message then the phone will play the message tone and show ur incoming message.
this is observed in k850i also.

Yes. I really do like the look of it but all the user reviews seem to state problem after problem, with some people having 6 new phones in the space of a few months.
So I'm undecided as to whether I should actually buy the w910i |

I think if you were to get one from the newer batch, and also get new firmware, then it should work fine. Because i have had no issues yet.
I read somewhere you can check the date on when the phone was manufactured via checking behind or above the battery slot. |

Yep, I posted this quite a few times in the W910i discussion thread. If you get a newer W910i, you should not have any problems because SE have fixed most of the problems!
Finding the manufacturing date is pretty simple really. Ask the salesman to let you look behind the battery. Somewhere on the phone at the top right of the info written behind the battery, you should see the date it was made. Now the date is written like this:
07W50
This means 2007, week 50. So it was made in week 50 of last year (halfway through December). To be safe, I'd say go for one made after 07W48, and if possible sometime in 2008 (eg. 08W09). Mine is an 08W02 version, so its quite recent and I have no problems at all!
