@all
Here's what I know:
- The K850 will probably record in 3GP, but fortunately you can see that the audio codec is AAC. The K850 has been seen to be able to record in MPEG in the labs, but that's only in the labs, so don't think that it will have MPEG recording.
- The panorama mode will remain at 2MP for the time being.

As people have said, the bitrate is just as important as the codec though.

Excellent, Sony Ericsson!!! Superb!! A true world phone!

But maybe a bit too heavy: 118 grams.

About design... it's a matter of taste. Let's wait and see how it looks in real life.

118g sounds heavy but as long as the overall phone is small then I think it gives the impression of a well built, solid phone.

Great design and I know I will like even better in the flesh.

224KB for 4 seconds of video, so that works out at over 3MB per minute, that should be pretty decent quality.

I guess it would be alot of processing power and memory to stitch together three 5mp pictures in the phone!

not really, the optimum bit rate for QVGA res is about 700-800 which means 100KB for 1 second.

of course but here, the résult image is 2 MP (like K750/K800/K810..). I've hope that the final pano will be more than past phones.

So this is where M2 / mircoSD card (and probably battery and SIM) seem to go in. Very nice solution.

This eliminates the need of the whole back part to be openenable (my original presumption), which would have allowed dust to get into between camera lens and its protective glass.

EDIT:

http://img.phonedaily.com/img/news_hk/5027/18.jpg here you can clearly see the battery and the SIM
