SE failing in producing good phones? |

@QVGA
Like I said before, who am I going to believe, the price indicators of one person in one country just because he says so?
Or industry analysts with degrees and a breadth of knowledge that would simply stagger the average person?

Name me one time when I have ever said SE doesn't lose value! Where?
Plus, whose market data am I going to believe; that of the industry analysts, who shareholders rely on to preserve their million dollar investments?
Or yours?
@sapporobaby
Well you may regard the K800i as kids stuff but still that doesn't mean it isn't a good phone.

I didn't say the k800i was not a good phone. It was. As I wrote, I had one, and I had the w810i which in my opinion was also a great phone. However, for the shear power of quasi-multi-tasking, they just can't match S60 or even UIQ.
Also when the SO903i hits the market (not sure it has) then it can be evaluated as being a good or great phone. Also again , some people like Symbian OS, some don't. Personally I like to have the added flexibility that Symbian gives. My k800i didn't have this option, but it was still a great phone. Go look over at the thread in this forum still talking about it almost a year later.

@sapporobaby
Ah, so then you would agree then that SE isn't failing to produce good phones - as the title of the thread says?
Oh I agree for the sheer power of multi tasking symbian phones are infinitely more capable.
There are plenty of arguments about how the K800i comes close to multi-tasking without actually being a smartphone - you'll find max_wedge right in the middle of them.

Actually it was a question rather than a statement. I will say that SE has the ability to produce good phones. Sure, why not but as far as I am concerned for my particular needs, they don't anymore.

I agree that SE aren't producing good high-end phones at the moment - the kind the likes of you and I and alot of others here on Esato want, however, I wouldn't for one minute construe this to mean they are incapable of doing so.

I concur 100%, and contrary to what mweb6161 says and continually fails to grasp, realize, acknowledge, etc..... I am not a Nokia fanboy. I am a fanboy of what works for the purposes I have intended. If SE produces something that I like that appeals to my lifestyle, they get my money. If not, then I will look elsewhere.

Sapporobaby, your posts speak for themselves, i don't actually recall any direct post naming you as a "fanboy", In any case anyone who sends another member a PM telling them to **** off, just because they have disagreements in the forum is WORSE than a fanboy IMO!!

Yup my posts do speak for themselves. They were speaking about my personal experiences with SE phones and how I switched. From then on out you decided to try and find fault with every post I made. For the most part I ignored them as they were meaningless. But you have made fanboy comments in the past. I think in this very thread, Dogmann had to correct you on your behavior as well.
As for what Goldenface said, a PM is just that, not something you can run home to mommy with and say that you got insulted because someone else decided not to take your crap. I have nothing more to say on this and yield you the last word.
End of lecture.

... That bit of wisdom was hibernating when a certainmember expressed his del*sional desire to p*nch my t**th in, and you jumped to his defense like a h*rny lemming on steroids, I s'pose? Well... Can we now return to the thread, or should we invite G. Ramsay and J.Clarkson to teach us manners?

SE makes theirs phones with highest Quality.
Nokia makes phones with all lot of functions (who nearlly works properley), also some of Nokias top-phones like N95, has not the highest quality. or is it someone who thinks for example N95 has high quality ? (feels like a plastic phone for half that price).

Hi all,
Well sorry to disagree with most of you and whilst the K800 may be a good phone and even capable of running Multiple apps it is in no way a smart phone. Also when first launched it was a disgrace with the amount of phones that died due to the bad EROM problem, how did this also get out the gate without sufficient testing this also does less than inspire confidence and is not the only model to suffer either.
If this was still Ericsson none of this would be happening and trust me we would all be very excited about the next product launches. Instead of which we get this big build up to May the 8th and then a Fizzle rather than a bang.
Where is the dam 5 mega pixel Cybershot that has be coming for how long now and every time it's the next announcement at this rate the rest of the Market will be on 8-10 Megs by the time it puts in an appearance.
What has happened to the 7-8 UIQ3 devices some with out touchscreens that where coming at this rate we will be lucky to hear of them by Christmas for spring/summer launches. Tell me how i am meant to seriously consider a high end smart phone from SE when SE simply don't have one. Please don't suggest the P1 besides WiFi b a Camera and the extra Ram it's the same hardware as the M600 and how old is that now at only £199 brand new the P990 today is £236 and the P1 is going to be £440 approx some choice even Motorola has a better selection and one of them is UIQ.
Marc
