Which GPS-recievers are you guys using that have gotten it to work?
Has anyone tried it with Holux GPSlim 240? |

I'm using a 16 channel Holux receiver, working a treat.

As said before, 32 channel Holox BT-321... note Holox, not Holux
RFMD chipset, which beats the usual sirf3 by 10-12 seconds to first fix.
even works indoors !
also compatible with BT 1.2 (only one that is)
12 hour battery (week on standby)
no driver needed
£38 from Ebay
highly recomended.

Hi all,
I have exactly the same as einst and have been using it with a P910i initially and every other phone since as stated by einst it has very quick acquisition times great battery life and the better chipset. I can confirm it also works indoors which makes route planning much easier. Although i hate to admit it cost me near double what einst paid but i have had it for ages.

@bg999
yea, same here, really annoying.
I've set the GPRS group as the main, and the emails manually to use the Internet group which has the wifi accounts. I don't use the built-in web browser, but I'd suspect that it would use the GPRS group, it is indeed a shame that TomTom fails the connection on the first try, at least either allow it to wait for the rest of the group accounts, or allow us to manually set an account to use. But right now, it is working fine for me, and thankfully the apps that I use I can choose which connection to use, so I'm not running up a huge bill via GPRS when I can be using WiFi at home and work. |

@Wytey
Thanks for the response. At least I know it is not anything I am doing wrong. I suppose I will just need to manually change the priorities if I want to access Tom Tom PLUS. Thanks for the confirmation. |

Hi everybody!
short question for the knowledgeable:
is it possible to get voice instruction from tomtom on a bluetooth headset? That would help a lot with car-noise.
cheers

Yes - it works fine with my HBH-DS970 stereo headset. Although I think it will only work with headsets which support the Audio Gateway profile though (ie A2DP stereo headsets). |

All works great, fatreg is my hero!
Two questions:
1 - is it possible to turn screen and work TT in landscape?
2 - how to change fonts size? I'm living in Spain where street names tend to be very long and you miss out on the actual street when searching |

Good question mate, fullscreen tomtom would be ideal on the P990i.

Ok, you had the same prob as me. What you do is to only copy the contents of the folder to you mem card. NOT the whole folder.
Then when u install it will install perfect
Works very nicely

I bought the DVD version and installed the UIQ version on my P990i, but when it tries to install on the phone after using tomtom home, i get the security check failure error. Exactly which files must be copied where to avoid this certificate thing? Can the certificate check be turned off? Have torn off the little i had left of hair on my skull in frustration... |
