Hey! Will it degrade the sound volume or make the 'Mega Bass' selection unlisteneable, such as R1L002? Or will it mantain the high volume, great Mega Bass and no hiss?

TUPAC1: You'll do much better with AKSD's or my latest driver.

AKSD - Could you maybe update the 1st page to include links to both yours and my latest driver???

Hi

I tried the mongoose 3800 second loud driver yes all the hissing is gone and sound is loud but aint that impressive. The first loud version is so loud that u cant take it sometimes.I mean tweaking some equalizer settings the first version blows ur mind I am using an ipod earphone so quality is awesome .I dont care of unnoticible hissing in 1st version .

The 1st verion rocks really its very loud that any other driver i tried Just my opinion. There is distortion at high levels but u can overcome that by tuning the equalizer.

Mongoose 3800 just requesting u can we make something thru which the loudspeaker volume can be increased.

Thanks for all ur great work.

Cheers

The temptation to increase volume through the speaker was too much. So I Played around a little. From what I can tell farfield_play.apf is responsible for the output to the speaker during playback. So, I have modified this file in a similar manner to the loud ver of phf_2 and reckon I have increased output volume by around 10%. Please try it and let me know what you think. Here's the link:

Hey moon! How are you doing?

I've tryed both the last posted version of akds and your, and thought they were similar in loudness... is any of the two louder than the other?

Now I'm about to try the speaker one... does it distort? Can it go even louder? Is there any other sound 'environment' that could be tweaked further to increase volumen?

And last... about MegaBass... is there any way to don't make it distort while 'louding' the drivers?

Thanks.

Dan - Version 1 of my loud driver is the loudest by far but still has hissing. As for the latest drivers - you need to be the judge of that.

I don't think there is a way around Megabass. Personally, I think Megabass is Cr@p and a waste of time - I'm happy with manually setting my EQ.

And with the speaker drive - again, you be the judge and let me know. I'm happy that the volume is increased. As for the other "sound environments" - just too much mucking around for me to be bothered.

moon:

Tried the speaker one, I think it's actually louder but, could it be it lost sound quality or something? Not that it distorts, but... like if I hear a big 'rumble' instead of hearing each instrument...

And about the other drivers, do you have the link handy of the first version? So I won't have to look them in the >20 pages... if not; it's OK anyway.

But about these... are the v1 louder than v2 but with hissing? Or is v2 as louder as v1 only that it doesn't present the hiss? And v1 still cracks the MegaBass?

Thanks.

P.S.: just out of curiosity... what the heck is MegaBass? An ultra-secret combination of equalizer bars that you could actually replicate by putting them manually, or does it use a different DSP or something?

DAN: Here is the link to the LOUD driver

http://rapidshare.de/files/28117979/PHF_2_play.apf.loud.html

I think Megabase is just a customized EQ setting outside the range available through the EQ in the Walkman player.

As far as the speaker driver goes - I didn't think there was that much breakdown in sound. As with the volume on the headphones a little more control over the volume may be required. Music is recorded at different levels. For most songs it's O.K. But for those that are recorded louder you need to turn the vol down abit. I'd rather have to turn the vol down on the loud songs rather than not being able to get the normal and softer level songs to play loud.

Everyone needs to remember that we are dealing with small phone, small speakers and small headphones. The combination will have physical limits. It would be fair to say that SE would have tuned their drivers to get most out of the hardware without loss of quality. When we start hacking these drivers we could actually be stretching the hardware beyond what it was designed to do or what it can do physically. You look at just about any stereo on the market and you will find that they distort at max volumes. More so on some songs than others. This is the same as what we are experiencing. So, I think people need to get a little more realistic with their expectations.

I "think" best if you want loud without distortions @ max vol on speakers, use the farfield_play.apf from w810i....
Coz i tried yours and it distorts @max vol on speakers...
juz my 2cents,btw yours are GOOD enuff, vol can be slowed down,i can adapt to that...

How does the w810 version compares to moongoose? What are the differences? Where is a link to that file? (speaker)

Thanks.

Well... I just tested the v1 of moon and it's realy louder! Even with the hissing and MegaBass distorting I think it's great nonetheless.

I have another batch of questions here :

1) Can the hissing be tweaked also of the speaker file? You know... if you put the phone to your ear when in Walkman mode, you'll hear a hissing there too...

2) Could this v1-headphones be tweaked at least to manage MegaBass and mantain the hiss? Or MegaBass cracks with high volumes, hence while here it cracks?

3) What EQ setting do you use to 'simulate' MegaBass? Care to share it with us, so at least we could live without it distorting?

4) Could v1 be EVEN further improved to make it louder, no matter if MegaBass doesn't work and hiss is still there... I just want to see how far can it go without distorting and then stay there!

Thanks for all, this is really great.

P.S.: moon... you may wanna take care as you're probably going to be prosecuted by medical autorities for releasing something to the masses that will damage their ears badly...!!!

Hello all,
In this path "tpa/system/multimedia/mp" there is a file call "settings.xml"
By changing the values in the Manual Equalizer script, we can unlock more equalizer bars

Read this somewhere, but cant remember where
Thanks for all efforts
