Well, I just finished flashing to R2A014 (back up) from R5D007 (eastern european version) and got my standby time back. Yay! Happy to see 295hrs instead of 58hrs. I'm going to miss the improvements that was in R5D but can't have just 2days of standby. I can deal with that trade off.

I'm wondering, if these files was dumped when the batteries was not fully charged, would that info be saved as well? But others here have been seeing the same low standby times with different versions of the firmware. The battery is monitored from the hardware and something gets broken. What do you think?

Hardware revision is R2A.

History of flashes

R2A014 -> R5D007 (Chinese version) first noticed low standby time.
R5D007 -> R5D007 (Eastern euro version) still the same.
R5D007 -> R2A014 (original) normal standby time is back.

I want to try again. But with a clean dump of R5D007. Not the ones posted. So if anyone has it, drop me a msg. Thanks.

why don't you put like e or f meanwhile, those perform better than r2a, right?

Yes, they probably perform better, BUT: with R2F (formerly provided by http://www.alfamobil.cz/support.htm ), I got the same low stand-by problem... only 50 hours.
Btw: it's not only a "wrong" calculated standby-time, the battery REALLY lasts for only about 2 days. Quite strange, I first thought it'd be a software matter only, but obviously, hardware seems to be affected as well (which is really strange, imho!!)

Cheers,
Rog.

guys,
my hardware version for my T68 is R1B, i havent seen anyone mention this hardware version anywhere in the forum, has anyone successfully upgraded a hardware version similar to this to T68i?
I want to upgrade to R5C001 (from sw ver R1B), is it normal for the hardware and software version to be the same?, i got the sw version from the enginering menu and the hardware from, the sticker behind the battery.
I am not sure whether to go thru with due to the BT problems everyone is having and the fact everyone else has been talking about upgrading from R2X.

Battery update!!!
I guess you all noticed the battery problem after trying bluetooth...
If you would just go back to the bluetooth menu and set the operation mode to Off, then your battery standby time would be normal, I think..

I just flashed mine, and the battery time seemed normal 170+ hours, but then I tried to have my BT in discoverable mode, then I noticed the drop in standby even after it turned it self off after 3 minutes...
anyways, I hope this helps...

Anybody hear from unlocKing lately?

They seems to doin' it again by not responding to email, I've sent email to at least 4 of their email addresses (the ericsony@unlocking.co.uk even bounced back) inquiring for my login w/o luck.

So if they don't want business what/where do you guys use other than unlocKing? Heard somebody out of Las Vegas available too, anybody use his server yet?

unlocKing seems to be having trouble with their connection they told me in an email a couple of days ago. I could not access their server, but they gave me another solution and so far have been quite helpful. Here is the link to their alternative server:

http://www.unlocking.co.uk/download/Thai.zip

This is sort of hidden as it is linked to the picture of the unlocking cable in the website. and the website doesn't mention this.

I also bought some credits from Adam Roth whom operates out of Las Vegas. His server is fast and has always been up. Might I also mention that he credited me with logs 4 minutes after I sent him payment via paypal. This is really astonishing. If you want to get a hold of him his email is info@gsmphonesource.com. He is known as LVWireless in howardforums.com.

Both unlocKing and Adam have the same prices also.

I hope this helps.

On another note: I have tried flashing my T68m phone to several firmwares with partial success ... in all my three attempts, they have all suffered from the dreaded 50 hours standby time, but no bluetooth problems. As of right now I flashed back to R2D005 which is the original cingular firmware it came with and my battery standby is at its original 250 hours plus!

I wish I could find a good service center in Paris, France to upgrade my R2B software. I only found one that takes a week to do it...

Hi Guys,

I just flashed my new AT&T T68i just bought from BestBuy last week to R5C001, using Client 6.52. It had R3C software and R6B hardware.

I flashed it because stuipid me did a master reset and the phone won't allow me to delete the data accounts and WAP profile, it keeps coming back after power cycle.

After the flash everything is working fine so far, paired with my Jabra BT-200 effortlessly, I can delete data account and WAP profile w/o coming back. I am a happy camper now

does anyone know if there is any difference in hardware between the oringinal T68m (Hardward Ver R1B) and the latest T68i?

My T68 is the original version (i got it October 2001), am i likely to run into more problems (losing BT etc) when i flash it as the hardware is quite and old version? or will it make no difference?

Thanks

I have an unlocked new AT&T T68i that I have upgraded to the R5D firmware and I am having tons of problems with my bluetooth connections. I have the Parrot Car kit and a bluetooth dongle for my pc. The both Pair with the phone but thats it. Nothing else works. So even if you go from T68i to R5D there are still problems.....

The problem with the Parrot is a known issue... it doesn't work anymore with a Firmware newer than R2F (even if the phone is flashed "officially" in a Service Point).
But maybe your other problem with the BT-Dongle might be caused by the "home-made" flashing, as described from several users in this thread.

Cheers,
Rog.
