Just went to my local Vodafone store who said 22nd Oct. Orange said ' about a week' and o2 said 'a couple of weeks'. Only Vodafone seem to give actual dates but then they just keep changing them.

i like them also for giving hpm-82 in the box with w950i 
and this black leather case with orange "w/walkman" logo
can't wait to buy one (once it is released  ), collecting money now...

i don't want to wait any more 
why can't they just release it to the market? for god's sake it's on of the most anticipated phones of the year and they keep pushing release further and further...
i've already started to convert some of my vids to the format playable by the phone and will be up to encoding music to eaac+ once i find encoder

Because it's got all of the existing UIQ3 bugs together with some of its own (i.e. the keypad mapping was really bad, now it's closer)
Have to say the media player works very well though - none of the loud clicks between tracks that you get on the p990i

the w950i price tag WILL drop after it's released right? somewhere between m600i and p990i? around £300-350?

is se-store.co.uk a reliable source when it comes to release dates? they say october and that would there are less than 3 weeks till releasing w950i

Vodafone release date is 22nd
o2 release date is 6th Nov
all orange are saying is 'very soon'. They had their 'dummy' phones in last week which usually arrive about 2 weeks before the release.

what converter should i use to rip my CDs to eaac+? dbpoweramp? or is there any linux tool to do this?

Think sonic stage(connect) would be the best option. It's sony's version of iTunes.

i heard it's not good.
would disc2phone support aac? as for now i think it only encodes to mp3.
