Leaked images do not necessarily beget an announcement. I don't recall seeing any leaked images for the W760i or the W350i, yet those were obviously announced

Yeah the target price isn't so bad but as long as they don't repeat the 990 debacle.
PK anything on any new Bluetooths as well? or anything else? Or just phones to be announced?

@PK
Will you be able to post pictures of the early prototype that you had in the fall, before the makeover? It would be interesting to see the difference, once it's announced of course.

As great as this phone is, I don't see myself justifying a $900+ USD price tag for, when it comes down to it, a phone. An awesome phone, yes. But still, a phone.
I should be upgrading my home instead with that kind of money! haha.
I hope SE prices it lower so I can afford it and not feel horrible spending the money. |

Neither can I. Going by those estimates, it would be at least NZ $1300 (possibly closer to $1600) on release here, which is way too much. Only the S700i topped $1300 out of any SE phone here in New Zealand a few years back, and that was $1599 and nobody bought it.

There are always leaks...... it's part of the process.
In order to get the press to publicise for you, you drop them a teaser a few days before, so they turn up to the press conference. Expect high quality pictures and no specs, or low quality pictures and some specs to be released, if only to ensure the press conference is well attended.
As for pricing, I think now that the iphone is available, we will see all manufacturers shift towards a pay up front AND contract tie in model as Apple have used. Most people in Consumer Electronics realise that with R&D Costs going up and price erosion bringing hardware prices down, the extra money is in services. Hence apples visual voicemail and associated iphone apps being tied into a revenue sharing agreement.
Realistically this means that P** could be a £600 phone sim free, with a £300 outlay and an 18 month subscription for those that want to go contract.
The iphone is £269/£329 + 18 month contract after all..............
Wonder what SE's killer app/service on P** will be?

Well, I never claimed I have a perfect memory.
Still, 1 day before the announcement (CES was Jan 7) isn't really a "leak" in my book.

Unfortunately, the US won't offer the Pnext with any kind of contract since the only two possibilities are ATT and Tmobile. ATT already has a contract with apple and tmobile, generally sucks. haha. At least it does in my area. the signal is horrible. So I'll have to be looking for Pnext sim free. Which, is likely to be well over my budget! Sad, but it looks like I'll have to wait until the price drops. |

Right Tommy
There will be a mass of new phones - around 10 to be more precise.
But Beibei and Paris aren't on my list as well.
Beibei and Paris are expected to be lauched in Q4, so I guess we'll see them in November
Tyra and Josephine belong to the new "Compact Touch Series"
As well as Emilie and Beibei will...but later this year
