Z5 in the fall would be great. I'm looking forward to it! I hope it is a new design and some great new or perfected tech. It doesn't have to be something crazy innovative, as long as everything they offer is the top in the market.
come on sony! I HAVE FAITH IN YOUUUUUUU

Single core of 901 puts the performance in around the SD800 territory but the multi-core score of 5071 is better than the S6 even but then the S6 line is running a QHD screen vs FHD. Perhaps this device is a cheap man's Z line compact sitting above the lavender model which might be the T4 ultra or just T4? or even T5 depending when it will debut.
Definitely running the new IMX230 sensor which is great news. More benchmarks will probably leak soon if the devices are to be at IFA but I feel we are looking at 2 devices (E55xx and E56xx) for IFA along with new smartwatch and smartband and then later on in octoberish time frame or later the flagships with the SD820 hopefully. |

EDIT: E5663 fits a flag compact spec perfectly and imo is most likely a variant of the new compact for some markets - same exact spec but different cpu maybe because qualcomm will have short supply of s820 and sony wants to launch the compact asap in selected markets or they don't see s810 as an option anymore and mediatek is their best option.
there is no way imo that E5663 is a cheaper compact. it is not a typical sony device strategy and not viable.

IMX230 sensor in new leak makes me wonder if Sony has a new sensor for Z5 because Sony flagships and midrange never use the same sensor |

I think Sony will present Z5 at IFA no matter what. They'll release it in November (which is typical for Sony, ehem Z4 Tablet ehem)
For China and India a plastic version of compact like A series might use the mediatek cpu. I don't push out that possibility.
By the way E58XX could be a Bond phone of some kind.

A series leaked before the compact series? i don't know about that one... and like you wrote, i also don't see sony announcing a wave of devices at ifa and then announcing compact, main and ultra after yet in 2015. not typical sony. |

They might announce the ultra version at IFA first then leave the Compact and Standard flagship for CES and MWC next year
Since the Z3+ is launching globally, It might not be possible for them to release another flagship in H2

I don't think they'll split next Z and Z Compact. Announcement date depends on how good SD820 samples work. If they are problematic I think they'll wait to make sure that they can release the device in some reasonable time from the announcement.

5071 is about 500 worse than the S6. But single core and GPU scores are much more important in real use and MT6795 fails in those departments. It's even worse than last year's SD801! Overall MT6795's performance is a massive letdown:

Everything but multi-core performance is mediocre at most and graphics benchmarks are a series of massive letdowns. MT6795 is in the bottom, beaten by every Adreno GPU with a huge margin in every single test.

E9+ is QHD so with FHD it will be suitable for midrange |

Guys let's bet on how loud will be the newest Sony flagship. I think it that they will go really crazy this time and we will have maybe even 0.31V.

Offscreen tests are scaled to 1080p (FHD) and they're still rubbish. M4 Aqua has better onscreen results than MT6795 with FHD! And E5663 is going to be significantly more expensive. SD808 would be much better choice with 30% higher single core score and much, much faster GPU.

Guys this is not Z5 Compact or such. We have the codename for it so please keep calm. We have the E58XX code so obviously this is some high midranger. |
