my question is.. how much was the Z1 in taiwan? if it was THAT much more expensive, then I can understand it. I'll be getting the smartwatch is about $150-60 USD in value. the Dock and QX10 is about $300 USD. So if the taiwanese Z1 costs that much more then I guess that's reasonable. Though, I wish they had give the dock to UK too.. and maybe added on another $25 in price. I'd take that.

has anybody been able to access the free movies via xperia privilege?

EDIT: You should now see the full resolution pictures!

@moogoo Kinda. I'm in Germany and my SIM Card is also German and I already had the Xperia Privilege app on my phone but couldn't get it to work to show the offers. So I've read that you should uninstall and reinstall.

So I did and then it showed up for me. I can get 60 days of free Music Unlimited + 5 movies for download (Django, Total Recall 2012, The Amazing Spiderman, Easy A and 2012) + one summer blockbuster which becomes available in December. It's valid from September 16th to December 31st.

In the terms & conditions, it says, that this offer is only valid in the UK, Australia, Spain, Germany, France and Italy. And you need to have bought an Z1, Z Ultra or Tablet Z.

So I did some photo shoots with the latest .534 firmware on my white Xperia Z1 (full resolution on Flickr). http://www.flickr.com/photos/30376253@N08/sets/72157635990528714/

I really think that they are impressive. Sharp, detailed, blur free. Just great! Look at the picture of the car from behind - you can see all the details! Or the one with the old sign.

I didn't do any post processing except masking parts of the number plates with black.

But judge for yourself. What do you think?

I'm deeply impressed by the pictures which my phone took. Maybe you all have too high expectations or my unit is a perfect one, who knows?

Anyway, if the camera should become better, that'll be great, but I'm already satisfied as of now.

^weird. well i looked at them in original and they look great. the 8mp ones are very nice and detailed with a lot less noise/artifacts than before.

and i can now confirm uninstalling and reinstalling xperia privilege doesn't work.

it's not even available to me from play store cause of my region

i had to install it manually.

btw.. what is with the play store these days? it's impossible to browse! you can't sort, filter, or anything. if you don't know the exact name you're looking for, it's almost impossible to find what you want.. bleh.

if true what they say that BIONZ is not fully applied, then we can expect some serious improvements..

Wow. 6 hours of screen, some good camera usage (I guess) and yet 1 hour and 2 hours without screen on? I loved that o.o

yeap. pretty good amount of camera usage. i was testing the social live feature last night for a good 30 minutes.. total stream time was probably about 15 minutes all together.

plus i've been messing with the camera a lot too.

i'm very happy with battery life

I didn't know they updated social live app! it is SO beautiful now. I love the interface and "drill down" navigation using swipe gestures. I am hooked on using it

Very good camera quality with the latest firmware. It will only get better and better. Great battery life as well. Xperia user shouldn't be worry about the battery, IMO Xperias are the best in terms of battery life compared to other smartphones (contrary to what shown by GSMarena).

@moogoo, yes the social life apps is very nice compared to sony's first attempt. The only lacking is no sharing button.

@myp910 - what do you mean by no sharing button? there is a button to post things for twitter and facebook. do you mean to add pictures/videos, etc?

FYI: for anyone looking for nice wallpapers for their phone (or your computer) check out this website! it's got lots of great wallpapers and has them in HIGH quality.. all different resolutions.
