Sorry friscosjoke, I dont understand, how does "changing my phone name in my msg" change anything. Most receivers will still reject the pairing and you wont be able to bluejack??? Anyone else can help |

The most common mistake we all make when you first learn how to send stuff to people is you try to pair or bond with the other phone first. Dont do that. Simply find the item you want to send to the other phone, go to its options, and send it via Bluetooth. Pictures, sounds, themes, or other files always need the other phone owners permisson before they are allowed to be sent.
Things like contacts, calendar appointments, and tasks always get sent automatically. You can even attach pictures to contacts so they get sent automatically.
Most new Nokia phones all require the owners permission to allow the connection before anything gets sent, including contacts. They just wont accept things automatically, except for the old 6310. When you try to send something to a Nokia, on the Nokias screen your Bluetooth name is shown, saying something like '(bluetooth name) wishes to send you a message, accept yes / no ? '. The easiest way to trick the Nokia owner into accepting the incoming message is to rename your phones Bluetooth something like 'Nokia Msg Centre' or something which they'd think is normal, so they'll allow the message thinking they're about to receive some SMS messages.
Sometimes when you've already sent a message to some phones, they wont accept another. The T610/T630/Z600/K700 will only allow you to send one message to them at a time. Nokia phones however, allow 10+ depending on the handset, and PDA's / computers tend to have no limit to the amount of contacts you can send.
Hope this helps.

Hello.
How about the P800? Some days ago I did a bluetooth search in my hotelroom, and I found a phone called P800. I tried to send a contact with a name only from my T610, but it did not work.. I tried several times, but no luck.
Could it be that the owner was using the bluetooth for something else? |

I tested how the 'Synchronize view' option (Menu -> Phonebook -> Options) causes my PocketPC to accept contacts sent from T630 via infrared, and found that while it is in position 'By first name', the contact 'Hello There!' is received like 'There!, Hello'
Is it the same when contact is sent to another phone? |

If the Bluetooth on the other phone is busy, it probably wouldnt accept the contact, no.
Business phones like the P800 & P900 sort contacts by surname first.
So if i sent a proper contact, e.g David Beckham, it would display the contact Beckham, David.
The trick is, when sending messages to business phones is either to put the last word as the first, or put something at the start of the message so it appears at the end.
For example send ! You've been bluejacked so on the business phone it is displayed You've been bluejacked !.

Anyone tried sending .mp3, .wav or .mid? I was thinking of getting the 'Stripper' theme tune (you the one trupet/trombone ba ba ba baaa ba ba ba baaa) and renaming it to HappyB'day and trying to send it as see if anyone plays it!

Actually, it would be You've been bluejacked, !
And, as I wrote, it is T630 who changes the order of fist- and lastname -- not a business phone... |

Oh no ! i missed a comma !
Here you go: , and heres another for the price of one ,
From the T630's ive used, they've never put the surname second, they've always displayed it what you see is what you get.
In fact, yours is the only one that does it that i know of !

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think for the P800 or P900, the sequence of the displayed name is dependant on the user's settings, coz if you go to the phonebook, click on a name and then edit, you can change the order of the display. So it really depends on the receiver's settings. I stand corrected

Simple test:
not changing a thing on the receiver's side, I'm sending two times contact 'Hello there!' from T630 to PocketPC - first time with 'By first name', 2nd time with 'By last name' setting.
Here what is displayed by PocketPC:
1 - 'there!, Hello'
2 - 'Hello there!' |

alpal, im not sure about that. When i had my P900 i never saw that option so i cant comment on it.
spooky77, its not your T630 that swaps the names around, but your pocketPC. Anything that gets sent to your T630 should be displayed correctly.
On your pocketPC, if you choose to have contacts sorted by surname, then any contacts you receive from any device will display the first word at the end.

Hi guys!I'm having fun with bluejacking for almost a year know, but unfortunetly I never managed to see my victims untill today.
I was waiting for a bus and I had this fella front of me.He was a kinda stupid looking, show of type for nothing. He had a chunkiest bluetooth handsfree I've ever seen on one of his ear and he had an earphone in his other ear which was connected to a PDA.Of course he was holding it in his hand to let everybody see how cool is he.Anyway he was annoying me,so I've decided to have some fun.Because he had his bluetooth handsfree I tought his bluetooth is on on his mobile.Well it wasn't but as I found out later his PDA's was on.I sent him a message:You look like an idiot! He almost droped his PDA when he saw the message.Especially because I changed my bluetooth name to Wanker Zone. I've never seen anyone look that puzzled as he was.
Well,I had my revenge on him.
Don't look ridiculuos!!
