Whew, I though only I affected. When I went to CBD the 3g signal appear again. I begin to regret upgrading to R1GB. However, my 2g signal in my house is always full strength now. I wonder whether it will affect batt power when you turn on '2g and 3g' mode (phone always searching 3g signal)?
Edit: I confirm again R1GB need better 3g signal. I went inside a building at CBD and the 3g signal dissapear. Older firmware can pick 3g signal just fine.
Let us write to SE to report this finding!

Davinci does not support CID 51. I just tested & it doesn't work here is the log.

So, if our CID 51 K800i has troubles, neither Wotan, Davinci nor KulanKendi can help...at least for the time being only SE Service Centre can. Is it the way the business go? |

I am afraid that is the case, at least for few weeks. I am sure they will support CID51 soon as wotan already support CID50. Although I am also sure that by the time my warranty for k800 expired, those third party will already support CID51 (unless SE plays cat and mouse and update the CID again).

but with any luck wotan would be able to update CID51 phones.
just saw in wotanserver that post that wotan for ASIAN FTP is down (supposedly posted 12/28).... hmmm that's wierd coz i've been asking their support this january and they kept on saying that their site and connection are all okay. .... hmmmm now the've posted someting "12/28" to answer that.... i wish i could refund the 2 wotan units i bought |

I got the same problem as you. I got 2 wotan credit as well, and could not connect to them. The first time you run wotan client, it search the european FTP site for update. I guess because of the current Internet problem (Taiwan quake) it is not stable. I can only run the client twice (out of maybe 20 tries). The problem is that the european FTP answer but when it transfer a bit the connection is lost then the client will crash. I also can not download firmware file from the european FTP (eagle.wotanserver.com). One time it run until 27% before it stop transfering for hours so I have to cancel it. Once the client running I change to Asian FTP but this one is not available at all (100% dead). Well at least I know I am not alone. Their support is also not good and seems to be denying all the problems. I still have a good faith on them and blame it on the current internet connection as I am from Asia. Well let's just see until the end of the month when the internet recover.
Kulan kendi on the other hand can run and download. However I also got some problem with them because they took a credit but failed to upgrade my firmware. I choose R1EJ HGK for my wife Z610 but after taking the credit my wife Z610 still have R1ED APAC. |

Interesting finding here. I play around with Setting - Connectivity - Mobile Network - Search for Network. Well here I choose my provider with the 3g icon (meaning force to choose 3g signal of my provider). Well the 3g signal appear again for few seconds before disappeared again (because I choose automatic in search mode). That prove that 3g signal exist in my home but not very strong.
Well I am not sure it is good or not for the batt consumption. The 3g signal is just 1-2 bar (when it appear) as opposed to 2g signal which is full strenght. Seems that R1GB is putting a minimum threshold when choosing the signal type (2g or 3g).
The question is when (lets say for example in certain area 3g signal is 4 bars while 2g signal is 5 bars) will R1GB still choose 2g over 3g (because 2g signal is stronger)? At what point the 3g will be choosen over 2g? Anybody got the answer. BTW, when I got the 3g icon at the CBD, the signal is full (5 bars). I am afraid that R1GB choose whichever signal is stronger unless it is on par then, at that time only, it will choose 3g. The older firmware maybe choose 3g over 2g in all condition as long as it still get the 3g signal.
This has significant impact on how we call because when 2g signal is stronger than 3g we might have to force (manual) selection for 3g before we can do video call. This is not very convenient at all. Off course this will not affect ppl in good 3g coverage especially in small and advance country like singapore.
Well, enough rant from me, what do you all think?

They say that on the Davinci site but they don't support it yet. But i have a read on there support forum (seuniverse) & it states no flashing support for CID51. |

just updated my k790i to r1gb its bad
my phone has become so slow
my music player is very slow...
songs sometimes skip when doing something else like on a very low end pc ..
my games are all not working...
damn..
is there any way to go bCK..

You sure Wotan doesn't support CID51?
