I'm trying to make a demo of Battlefeild 1942 work @ the moment, it is giving me a Null vortex summit or other error!!!!

I don't think using a cd as a shared drive would be a problem, true it can't physically read from more than one location on the disc at the same time, but in the same way a hard disc can't either. The operating system caches the files and schedules the reads from the different sectors in such a way that it can appear to read seveal files simultaneously. The noise might be a problem as it spins up and moves the reading lens around, but i think the transfer rate will still be a lot higher than your internet connection, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem if you just want to clear some space.
Of course you would have to have another folder on the hard disc for the files you were downloading. |
