Mamba, are you doing it now with your own sim? If yes, let me know if there is a special request by sms to provision or activate sim for wap and mms, cos i dont have problem with configuration, problem i have is that my sim cannot pick these signals and i dont know why.

@AYA;thanks for sending settings. I correctly configuerd it but so unlucky not to connect. I tried consistently on my way back to Lagos this morning from Asaba: no show. I just sent the "settings" text to 4777 and the reply I got was "...you won't be able to use the MTN data service, as your phone is not compatible". I use I-mate Jam pocket pc smartphone which works excellently with GloDirect.

i've tried to use 11 different 0803 SIMS today but only one of them worked & i paid the owner 1k for the line which he never need cos he had 3..
i still believe it's only some randomly selected Sims that have been provisioned & the OTA settings doesn't provision the line as i've noticed.
it's just a matter of being lucky, @ least for now that the service is still in testing stage..

mamba is correct. The OTA settings do not provision the line. My sister's line connects. Dad's does not.

I also notice that for some odd reason, some handsets seem hostile to this thing - and that just blows my theology!

I put my SIM into my wife's Siemens S55 and it wont work. I pop it back into my 9500 and voila! Maybe Brym! was right about what the system told him.

@2tek: Video streaming works fine on PC.It seems the reason it does not work on 9500 is that the files I have tried are Windows Media format. Still looking for something compatible with Real Player.

@Aya & co: It just aint fair that only a few of you are enjoying this freebie from mtn, I've been scouting the nooks and crannies of lagos searching for an 0803 sim that will detect gprs signals all day without success, is there anyone out there who knows anyone who has sucessfully activated an 0806 sim? Pleeeeeeeeeeease!!!

Hey... MTN has caused waqhala! Which one is aya & co? Why not 2tek & co; afterall 2tek initiated us all

Anyway, I havent met anyone with an 0806 SIM that works with it yet.

@amby: I feel for you, really. I have a friend who is so frustrated right now that he is inches away from damning the consequences and calling MTN customer care!

Abeg, make him no pour sand for our garri jare.
