I just got error message 0x003242 after loading the first firmware file (not the decustomisation file). It occured just after "Starting up GDFS...".
Luckily the bootloader still seems to be there as I have managed to restart the procedure, however, my credit is now gone.
Does anyone know what the above error message means?
Thanks.

Make a print screen of error and send it to whom ever you bought credit from. They should give you a new one...

@galdwyn
Yeah I bought it from Face Off Mobiles so I'm assuming its the right cable!
It says "ERI T28" on the packet although the leaflet inside mentions "Mobile Data Cable Specification". It does mention on the leaflet that "It can be used for SP & SIM Unlocking, Flash upgrading...."
So I am right in thinking I start with the phoned turned off?
Can I (how would I?) check that the interface between the phone and computer is working using Hyper-terminal?
Thanks a lot for your help! |

assuming that you have done everything right (right COM port, speed...) and have the right cable:
you should start with your phone turned off. When TS says Press... just shortly press the power button. Not to turn on the phone. Just a short press.

Do you think the error may have occured because the person who's phone we are upgrading had their phone lock enabled?
Although we can boot the phone and enter the unlock code, it sits there saying that there is no configuration and wont allow us to do anything. Do you think 2 credits may be needed now, 1 to unlock the phone (is it the phone lock to which this refers?) and another to flash it?
Cheers.

Not near the computer, but check you have com port setup correctly and that nothing is occupying your com port. Device manager, check conflicts etc. Or try the other com port. Or even your cable is not working. Try to connect to FMA to see if it works.

There seems to be slightly conflicting information on how to de-customise using the new v1.28 TOTAL Multiserver:
From the instructions in the application it says:
1. Select DEFAULT page.
2. Select DEFAULT LANGUAGE FIRMWARE for your phone
3. Select FIRMWARE for your phone if the phone's firmware version differs from DEFAULT LANGUAGE VERSION
(then after that I guess you press the Flash button)
On www.TotalServer.net it says:
1. Select the Normal K7S file for example K700_R2AA003_ZONE_1.K7S
2. Press Flash
3. When it says done DO NOT disconnect cable or power on phone
4. Select the Default Language file(K7L) you prefer
5. Press Flash
6. When it says done DO NOT disconnect cable or power on phone
7. Once the steps are completed the phone will be fully working and decustomised
Following the apps instructions, you choose both files together & only Flash once?
Following totalserver.net, you choose each file & flash each file individually?
Which one is correct or doesn't it matter? And does it still only cost 1 credit?

After finally getting up and running I have the same error message as Zaphod.
However, I get it just after the second 'Initializing Filesystem...'. I have also lost my credit.
When I turn my phone on I am told i have a 'Configuration error. Please contact your....." blah. |

Faceoff suggested that our problem was due to using version 1.25 of MultiServer although we have had this working before.
We are now using 1.28.
Faceoff credited me back with 2 credits, so we used the first one to remove the unlock code (even though we knew the valid unlock code), incase it was this that was confusing the MultiServer client. Its 86% through flashing now, I'll let you know how it goes.

Success this time.
I recommend making sure you have your phone lock turned off before you start flashing.
Cheers.
