1GB cards aren't out yet. And no, you cannot use a larger memory stick than 128MB on the P900.

I dont have a P900 but thought this was 256mb? [addsig]

The P900 supports the 256MB chip that has two 128MB "areas" on it. You select which area you want with a little switch. It doesn't support any single volume larger than 128MB...

Single memory DUOs which have two memory modules inside them (a switch is provided to swicth between the two 128MB modules) are available,

Thats pointless then....you have to take the memory card out and switch the switch in order to access the other area! You might as well put in a new 128mb card after taking the old one out!!!!!!!!!!

the memory stick select function only applies to standard size memory stick anyway. I still haven't seen memory stick duo with the select function.

btw the switch on the standard size memory stick is on the end furthest from the electronic contacts and so is on the part you would grab to pull the memory stick out of a device. This means that normally you don't have to remove the memory stick to change which 128mb bank you are using

OK, anyone near me offering the upgrade (Glasgow)? Or can someone recommend a trustworthy person who I can post my phone to to upgrade?

Wow! This could solve my Orange branding and P910 envy problems in one go!

Well I've just bought the SEFighter and flashed my P900 to a P910. It was a bit of a learning curve for the kit, and I was being very cautious, but so far so good - it boots OK (though it seems to run a bit slow).

I've reformatted the c drive and surprise! - restoring a backup from PC suite seems to be working OK at the moment too.

Once it's fully restored I'll run through all my apps and everything else and report back.

I may offer an upgrade service to cover the cost of SEFighter, but I'm not sure yet - I have a "real" job and did this for my own amusement. And the last thing I want is loads of hassle with people sending me phones that might be broken already etc...

Unfortunately I don't have a memory stick bigger than 128Mb at the moment to test that....

Well the restore worked ok, but Handy Day 2004 seems to have lost some icons and hotkeys need restoring.

Speed-wise things seem OK at the moment - not a lot different to P900 days.

Mobipocket complains I have a new CLSID, so I'll have to change that to carry on reading my books...

I can't find the viewer app - I de-installed Quickoffice and now I can't open Office files so I had to re-install.

I'll also de-install Opera if the built-in browser does things OK - loads more space on C:!

Remote P900 works fine, all the contacts are back, calendar is OK.

More later...

this post looks like it could be a challenger to the fabulous "P800/P900 Videos" one that is closing in on the 1m views mark. Its certainly reached 19 pages the quickest of any other post I can see in Esato so far!

OK the phone's working good - I like the new browser, the speed is OK (doesn't seem a lot different), the HMTL mail is good. Adjusting the brightness of the screen is great. Synching with previous P900 backups is better than the P910!
Most apps seem to be OK - Tube, TotalIRremote, MidiWriter Pro, Remote P900, One For All Solitaires, Lemmings, PhonTuner, but...

Cons: Bluetooth isn't working. It bonds with my Plantronics headset but loses connection when trying to make a call.

Handy Day 2004 keymapping isn't working, but the rest of the app seems OK.

Quickoffice crashes! This could be a deal breaker for me. I've tried installing my original version and the latest from the Quickoffice site (I am a registered user). It won't even run. I need to read Office docs...

It seems the new P910 viewers must be on a separate CD? Anyone got any info?
