Only prob I have had happened yesterday when my phone started giving me a phantom text message alert whenever I turned it on (didnt matter what sim was in the phone). Took it to O2 and exchanged it for a new one, and now I have a nice shiney new one with no problems again, albeit missing my pictures and ringtones (grrr.....).

GOOD NEWS!!!

New firmware released: R2E11

BETTER NEWS!!!

Anyone who owns a SyncStation DSS-20/25 can update firmware in its own PC! Can this get any better??? YES, all of you could give me 1€ and I would have money to buy one...

ok the first post in this forum was the the problems sonnu had, aint sure if someone have answeared them but well, i got one problem, i cant send anything with bluetooth or IrDa, but i can recieve with both technologies, so i think i just need to update the firmwire.

The second problem which isnt really a problem, its a sure thing that if u use ur phone much it will take a lot of battery, bluetooth, radio, camera and these things take ALOT of battery, cause i saw someone said the battery suck, and yes t610/30 battery is better than this one.

But check if u have 650 battery or 700, the first models were released with a 650battery!!!!!

I also have a question, i've tried to use the p900 dock on k700i but havent successed, anyone have the same problem, or know how to work it out?

Damn, so sweet that u can update firmwire by urself!!!

Alarm will sound on mine when volume is at 0 and when it's on mute using the #. So there is something wrong with your K700...

I have had my k700i (orange branded) for 7 days now.

I have to say that i am impressed with the innerworkings of the phone, im not sure if im keen on the external design tho.

Just wanted to say that when i get a text message, i just get "message 1" instead of something like "message from NAME"

also, im battling with outlook/phone/sim, i have transfered the numbers from my sim to my phone and synced outlook with the phone too......what a mess =/

i have around 3-4 of the same contacts with slightly different info in each, its almost been worked out (used to syncing probs due to my ipaq)

One thing i am hoping for is the battery life to improve, i have always been concious about correct battery charging but have previously belived that Li-poly batterys LOVE top up charges and hate being discharged, this would condridict info posted by others in the forums about charging habbits, anyone clear this up?

Okay, onto the gripes....

1) the delay between reciving a call and you answering it, i usualy talk as soon as i get the phone to my ear, but i have found that people who have called me catch my voice about 1-2 seconds though the sentance, anyone else notice this problem? (if you didnt notice the problem before you read this, then i am very very sorry...it annoys the hell out of me!!)

2) would like a "phone type manager" that can manage all the files on the phone, eg lets you send java games via bluetooth to other phones. if anyone knows of a third party java app pllllls tell me!

3) i am getting a interference type buzzing on some calls i make (dont know if its on reciving calls too) im not sure if this is me being super sensitive to the RF or me just having the volume up/down too much

4) any fast way to change profiles? i know that i can hold down # to get silent but to the other options (i suppose im missing the old nokia feature of pressing the power button once and selecting "outdoors/meeting/silent" etc

5) that blue bloody square around the signal strength meter, why is it there?!

6) would love the ability to change the brightness off the screen/buttons suppose this is something that may come with firmware.

Im sure there are a few more niggles....but thats it for now.

Thanks for reading such a long post.

@Impossible

First off.. Welcome to Esato!

Dude i don't know too much bout batteries but it would be interestin to see what people say bout your theory...
About ya gripes...
1) I agree the delay buggs the hell outta me too but not everyone suffers with it... It seems only to happen on certain phones...
2)A phone manager would be nice... Don't really know off anything like it available yet tho?
3)The buzzin noise! I'm on orange uk and i get it too... Sometimes?? The people on the other end of the call can hear it too! Is it a phone fault or is it a firmware fixable fault? You are only the 3rd person i've come across in this forum with the same problem? Or have i missed the others?
4)Nice and Easy profile selection would be good... Save us a little hassle.
5) Blue square?? What blue square?? My signal meter is blue? Not really square? The gprs indicator thingy comes up above the signal indicator... The to together kinda make a square...?
6)Brightness... Not really bothered by this either...

#Impossible

When I get an sms from someone - the whole screen is plastered with info - "Text message received from "contactname" Read now ?"
But this requires that the contact is allready in your contactlist so the phone knows the contact ID and it also requires that the sender has not turned on hide number.

Never had any synchingproblems neither with my Ipaq/Outlook - nor with my K700/Outlook. Usually synchproblems is caused by users not understanding the basic rules of synching - no offence at all - like entries/fields definitions having to be identical or mapped correctly in all devices you need to synch together and having unique ID's for the entries for the synchsoftware to know which to update/replace, and knowing in which order to synch what, given the right choice of replace/update what and where etc. Synching SIM with Phone and Outlook is usually sure to give problems - as field definition is totally different on SIM from phone/outlook. Like if you have a contact on some phone with 3 numbers, this is stored under the same contact entry - but once this is stored/transfered to the SIM it becomes 3 different entries with the same name as a SIM cannot hold 3 numbers for the same contact. If you then get a new phone and transfer the SIM to the phone you get 3 entries - then synching this with outlook and suddenly you have several entries of the same name both on the phone and in outlook. Synching is no easy matter - but this is no K700 issue what so ever - its not a bug or error in regards to the phone. Its an issue of the wonderfull world of synching

A few comments in a friendly spirit on your other points:

1. Havent noticed that myself on my non branded K700
2. There are a phonemanager both on the phone and on the pc using the software delivered with the phone or a BT device - that lets you manage all manageable files on the phone. This does however not include javagames simply because these are considered copyrighted materiale and not to be transfered from the phone to neither other phones nor other intermediate storagedevices. These can only be transfered TO the phone. There is no java applikation to get around this AFAIK and I dont think there ever will be.
3. Dont know about that one
4. Dont know about that one
5. The bloody blue square is a GPRS available indicator - it indicates that GPRS are available at the moment in the area where you are. If it annoyes you (like it did me) it can easily be turned off under Menu, Connectivity, Data Comm. Preferred Service, select GSM only. Then the K700 will not check for GPRS availability until you actually start a GPRS session. There is no noticeable extra lag when doing this.
6. Yeah - could be a nice feature - but not sure it will ever be implemented.

Oh, that's what it is for! Thanks...

Bug(?): The XHTML browser doesn't terminate the connections (sometimes). When you're trying to connect to it again... it'll blurt out an error message.

He's got an Orange K700 so no customisable shortcuts.
So switching to silent is the only thing you can do.
