for concealed carry? then we all have to join forces and ask for the lifting of gun ban at every whim of the politicians. as of the moment only criminals are 'allowed' to bring lethal weapons out of residence.

For concealed carry I personally carry a Glock 30. Its a .45 with a 10+1 capacity and I pair it with two 13 round Glock 21 mags for reload. Problem is if you're new to guns, you'll find the shorter barrel with its corresponding shorter sight radius harder to shoot than a full size gun. You may also want to consider the glock 27 if you prefer the 9 mm round, the HK USP9 compact also comes to mind.
However, with the gun ban which starts on Dec. 15 you however have to wait for the lifting of the gun ban on June 15 before you can apply for a permit to transport. As for Permits to Carry, that privilege has been suspended by our stupid government since the early part of this year.
As I said in a previous post, with the current crime wave, now is the worst time to implement a gun ban. Personally I care more for my safety and the safety of my family, and couldn't care less about the gun ban, its the wild wild west out there, everyone for himself

here in our country one of the most prominent guys pushing for the gun-ban is that fellow from DILG. on TV, when Tulfo asked how the law-abiding citizen will fare thru this crime-wave when they ban them from being able to carry for self-protection, with all the illegal guns around and they can't protect us.... this DILG fellow answered with useless statistics on gun related violence, which is not what Tulfo was asking in the first place.

in other words this DILG fellow doesn't have a realistic grasp of the real-world situation. (i am sure he is surrounded with armed bodyguards all the time.)

Glocks are available in almost all gun stores, I'd recommend Twin Pines/Casa Armas at Makati Cinema Square, nice, efficient and friendly service. Price is around 47,000 for the unit, add 5,000 for worry free processing so you get the gun in 10 working days.

While Lacson is a good candidate on paper, he is saddled by too much baggage and is known to have amassed considerable wealth during the erap admin. To add to that, the guy is vehemently anti-gun as per our experience when he was chief PNP(PTT's and PTC's were hard to come by and licensing took ages). That said I can't fault you for your choice as all of them are bad choices anyway, we'll just have to look for the lesser evil.

i have my own candidates but i refrain from making this forum a political forum that does not directly involve the gun hobby. but if there will be political issues that will endanger our hobby where these politicians are involved... i guess we have to fight that.

lacson was the reason why the PTC fee shot up that high. and he eventually banned the carrying of defense objects, and only criminals then were carrying weapons. not to mention he allowed only his friends to carry firearms (whom i remember were posing for pictures, with trigger fingers right inside the trigger guard, one tap on his shoulder and it will light off that gun). Doc is correct, he has a lot of that so-called baggage. which is heavy, to start with.

doc
have you noticed those accessory railings under the frame now on the new 1911s lately? and i mean on the better brands ...STIs, SVs, Springfields, Kimbers, BUL-m5s.

its a better idea, right? than boring holes on your favorite frames, just so you could attach aiming devices for competitions.

No gun enthusiast will ever vote for PinkyL. He started the gun ban then gave PTCs to his favored friends. And then the criminals during his time went big time. He is one good propagandist, that's all he is!!! There was one other great propagandist - Adolf Hitler!

at least Hitler did it for his country, not for his own pocket. (so... that makes this new propagandist a real evil one.)

on guns.......
another new handgun with railings.... the CZ in .40sw. this is somewhat compact in size, somewhere between the size of Kahr, but not as short and stubby as G26. which means this has better aiming feel. the steel parts are cut nicely. really worth the money.
saw this one in the last gun-expo in MegaMall.
