I would have loved for the Note 4 to be dust and water resistant, it would've made it that much more desirable and durable, but I believe the S Pen must've made it difficult to some degree WRT the sensor and all the other things that make it all work.
With all that said it doesn't make a huge diff to me, I have come this far with many phones and not had any fall in water, knock on wood, and I'm confident I won't be dropping the Note 4 in water at any point, but if I do here in South Africa Samsung have what is known as ADH Premium for Note 3, S5 and will come with Note 4, which means if I do drop my Note 4 in water or break its screen Samsung will loan me another Note 4 while my Note 4 gets fixed, sooooo I'm sorted the best part is that they will come and pick up my Note 4 and bring the loan device, and then vice versa when my Note 4 is fixed and then I have insurance on the phone to. I
Another awesome thing Samsung South Africa do is their own insurance. You pay a fixed fee monthly, and if your S5, Note 3 or Note 4 gets stolen they will replace it the 1st time free of charge no questions asked. We pay a heavy price down here for these phones, Note 4 is valued at $1090USD or £710GBP, so Samsung throw in all kinds of incentives.

£710 for Note 4 - wow! here at the start is £630 but on certain websites is listed at £575-600. Anyway the insurance thing is good especially for such an expensive phone. We have it here too but not directly with Samsung.
I had an iPhone 6 plus for about 9 days but with iOS 8.02 being a bit buggy (and having iphone 6 already) I returned it to Apple and bought a Note 4 instead. It is already available in Germany so I ordered one from Amazon.de - delivery expected Wednesday or Thursday - so I will get mine before you anyway I can't wait ! I played with one again in the samsung store and even though white one looks gorgeous imo the gap is more visible (I am more aware of it) compared to the black one. I tried the mouse function too (with the pen) and selecting worked so well! I think that for the first time we have a way of selecting text in android that is matching the lense zoom thing that ios has.
Anyway it will be nice to hear what you think of it - but after your exam you should try and study next weekend! ( maybe lock the note 4 away so it doesn't distract you . ) |

That insurance policy has now moved to other countries according to Pocketnow last week!! It only applies to Samsung flagships though. Currently Note 3 is more pricey by about £30 at CPWH stores

I get free mobile phone insurance with my bank anyway, so its always covered.
@ Wishmaster89 - Hold up I haven't had my say yet.
I understand to some people waterproofing is a big thing now that its almost standard with Sony phones. But for me its not. I have spent the past 9 months wondering what phone I was going to upgrade to. Earlier in the year there were only three options, the S5, Z2 or the LG G3.
Forgetting the other two, just in respect of the Z2 I was impressed by it overall, but when it came to the decision making I didn't once think that the waterproofing would be useful in anyway. I don't know what laws there are in other countries but in the UK we cant really take a mobile phone or camera into a swimming pool. If someone were to spot you taking pictures whilst on the beach in summer especially when kids are around, questions get asked.
Just where exactly does the waterproofing come in handy ??

Won't region lock be an issue for you or has Samsung ended region lock?

How about a rainy day or when someone spills his drink.

Some people have accidents dropping it in water or whatever. It's peace of mind it's protected from damage and many people want a phone that's waterproof because they live active lives

Bonovox is right, it's about peace of mind. I already said it once, you appreciate it once you have it, before that you start wondering why would you need waterproofing.
Look on the internet how many phones got accidentally dropped in the toilet or in the swimming pools (private swimming pools). If you know you don't have to compromise the looks of the device and it's functions you expect all your future devices to be waterproof, just because you feel safer with it.
Insurance policy is nice, but it doesn't change the fact that you loose your phone for some time and along with it your data. Loan device is nice but it's like with loaned car - it's not your's and you don't treat it like it's yours. |

Of course insurance doesn't change the fact that you lost your phone - no said that it did Insurance purpose is that you get a replacement ASAP at no charge. |

I am mostly against the look of the phone with the waterproofing. The Note is already a large phone. Waterproofing might have made it much bigger.

Awesome stuff, looking forward to your thoughts on it, don't be shy with the pics
I'm going to be studying all week after work, so that come Friday I can enjoy the Note 4 a bit.
All
It seems most Note 4s will rock the Snapdragon 805, even the India, Sri Lanka, and Singapore variants are Snapdragon 805, these were all Exynos countries, the Middle East is the same, it seems the Exynos 5433 is only going to be seen in a few countries on a few networks, is mainly meant for S.Korea.
