Great! I hope that many of the software features make it to our Note III

I hope it's a 3 axis OIS because 2 axis OIS is pretty much useless and i wonder why they use sony sensors again?
Is it because the second generation of sony exmor rs sensor is much better than isocell, or samsung is not able to produce sensors in large quantities? |

Certainly, Samsung is not able to produce sensors in large quantities
The integrated camera in Galaxy S5 (ISOCELL SENSOR) is much better than the camera on Xperia Z1 and Z2 |

I'm not talking about the first generation Exmor RS sensor that is in Z1 or Z2, But the second generation Exmor RS sensors like this one.

I think what you said "Galaxy S5 (ISOCELL SENSOR) is much better than the camera on Xperia Z1 and Z2" is still debatable.
Because I think what makes samsung superior is better image processing software, that's why S4 can get better result than Xperia Z and if you look at GsmArena and PhoneArena even with inferior camera (both the sensor and the lens) the G3 and GN3 can better result than Z2.
Even if we consider all the things that you say is true, I think it makes no sense if samsung want to use a inferior sensor for their flagships (Galaxy S5 LTE-A version and Note 4). |

I believe that they are not able to produce enough of their own cameras for their flagships hence the reason they turn to Sony.

Like I said it is simply not makes sense, as far as I know they have reduced the production of GS5 and they also use Sony sensors for GS5 LTE-A version.
So they should be able to focus the production of isocell sensors for GN4.
Does it make sense to you if the more expensive phones (GS5 LTE-A and GN4) using Inferior sensor than the cheaper one?
One of the advantages of ISOCELL sensor when compared to the first gen Exmor RS is the HDR mode, but there is no HDR mode in 4K video (please correct me if i'm wrong!).
If you look at DPReview image comparison tool the S4 with Sony sensor perform better than S5 in low light, so if you compare the ISOCELL sensor with second gen Exmor RS at least on paper the Exmor RS is better because the second gen Exmor RS has improved low light performance and capable of outputting 1080p @60fps, 4K or even 13MP @30fps HDR shooting.

Reduced production does not automatically translate into available capacity for the GN4. Mind you, I agree with plenty of what you say and in fact there was a camera comparison maybe in June that pitted the GN3, iPhone 5S, the GS4, the HTC M8 and the LG G3 against each other. The Note 3 was tied for second with the G3 just after the S5.
Indeed I expect that they will use the best available camera on the N4 and hopefully as expected it comes with OIS and improved low light processing.
Phonearena camera comparison.

@skblakee
The camera comparison that has been done by Phonearena and several other sites, can not be used as a reference to determine which camera is better.
Because there are many things that can cause errors in testing such as clouds, car light, etc., which is why Phonearena and GSMArena get different results.
The best way to do the camera comparison is to do a proper lab scenes test. |

Howdy do ! ive barely been on Esato this past few months, ive been really busy.
I never got round to upgrading my well over two years old SGS3, still using it and didn't go for the S5, M8 or Z2.
Nope im waiting for the Note 4 now. I was tempted by the G3 but the Note 4 sounds more interesting if the leaks are to be believed.

Note 4 is a very interesting device indeed albeit quite a bit larger than the s3. It will be interesting to read how you find it if you end up buying it |
