there was one called N64droid which is the only N64 one that worked but loads of users where complaining about it not working properly so the developer took it offline. if u google it u can find it for download and it works great for mario kart and super mario but some games are a bit iffy still.

Are you gonna debrand yours eventually?

Someone said this was near on impossible with the Play and I want to be able to take advantage of GTalk video calling when it is rumoured to be released soon.

Video calling has been completely disabled on my 3 branded one.

Yes, me too, it looks to me like it has been optimised for gaming.

The DK300 dock is quite good:

It turns the Play into a rather nice digital photo frame / radio alarm / charging cradle, and when a call comes through it answers it in loudspeaker mode.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play game sales disappoint
New figures suggest that PlayStation certified games on Android are not selling at quite the rate most expected.

Currently it is only the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play that can access PlayStation certified games, which does limit how many can be sold, but a month after launch and some of the titles are selling in their hundreds or very low thousands.

PlayStation Lifestyle has published sales figures for a variety of the games available in the store and they are as follows:

Cool Boarders 2: 100-500
Destruction Derby: 500-1,000
Jumping Flash: 50-100
MediEvil: 100-500
Syphon Filter: 100-500

Revolutionary device

All of these games are available through the Android Market, where the number of installs are shown, and they all have a price tag of £3.99 – which is quite pricey for Android.

Sony Ericsson is putting a brave face on the sales, saying that there are no concerns about the low numbers at the moment.

"There's no concerns, it's a revolutionary device, it's shaking up the market, we're very pleased with it," said Dominic Neil-Dwyer, Head of Market Development at Sony Ericsson.

"In terms of getting the PlayStation Certified program out, generally, we're very happy. I think we'll make a full assessment of if it has achieved our expectations fully, further down the line, so we're very happy."

It will be interesting to see how well the PlayStation certified games do when more compatible handsets are released.

This refers to PS1 games you see in Playstation Pocket and I'm not surprised at £3.99 a pop. They need more PS1 titles.

Emulators are eating into SE's revenue to be honest.

The main problem is that they are not selling any xperia plays. The arc is waay more popular here in sweden.

Yep. The play is so overpriced it relies solely on the whole Playstion Branding as an excuse for a mediocre camera/yester year processor/cheap materials/poor battery life/mediocre screen.

While the arc is a good £80-£100 cheaper, has nicer design/best in class camera/excellent screen/mediocre processor/cheap materials.

But we'll forget about the last two .

BTW the Play review is up on mobile-review.com

Currentley reading it, so far I can tell he will be disappointed....... rightly so.... unless SE drop the price by at least £100.

Pretty please Sony

The camera is far from mediocre, the pictures I have taken are rich and sharp and about what you would expect from a 5.0MP camera. No complaints there apart form the need for more camera settings - hopefully these will come with a further update.

Another gripe I have is that the back cover scratches easily and seems to attract a lot of gunk, even though I clean it with anti-bacterial wipes. I don't want a casing as I don't want the phone to be fatter than what it already is.

Otherwise, the OS is blazing fast, the screen could be a bit brighter but it is in no way unusable and the gaming, which is what the phone is all about, is excellent - there is more entertainment packed into this phone than any other and that's a fact. When the screen flips up and the keypad comes out to play a whole new world is before you as far as gaming is concerned.

The graphics are none short of excellent. The difference with Turbo Fly 3D on the Play and the X10 is really noticeable with it looking a lot smoother on the Play.

There is no other phone like it out there - it's very unique and I hope SE support it with more games - it seems they have a lot more planned for this phone.

It hasn't launched in the US yet so there is plenty more content and promotions in store for us no doubt.
