Great to see they are making progress on fixing the bugs. I hope they add kinetic scrolling anytime soon, I'm always having a hard time scrolling through the numbers. Is it a bug, when I search for the first letter of the name on the contact list and it shows me a different one?.

I think the problem is caused by the fact that det designers tried to make a smart search function. If you tap the search text entry field in the address book, a keyboard appears on the screen. Now, if you tap any of the characters, the keyboard will be restructured, and only contain those characters that are available as second character in any of your contacts, and the reduction of available keys will continue as you type, until there is only one unique contact left. Unfortunately, the function is somewhat slow, ind it's possible that you tap the screen for the second character before the new character layout is displayed, and in fact, another charcater than the one you tapped will be selected. Bug or feature ? ...

Yes, good explanation from altemyr! And remember that the search function searches for both first an last name, ie if you have a contact named Johnson in last name, and another contact named Joe in first name, if you want to search for "Johnson" and type J+o, then Joe will come up first in the phonebook list.
I think the search function works pretty good, although a tad slow.

I would like to have tabs on the side, with ABC, DEF, and so on, like a paper phonebook. So if I press ABC ( which first in initial mode with all (that fit) letter groups shows the first contact in that letter group) I can scroll through all my contacts that begin with A, B or C only. If you have 200 contacts, but can narrow it down in the list to maybe 10-15 in each letter group, it would be easier to scroll and find the one you are looking for.
If my explanation makes sense...

Guys, can anyone answer me a quick question?

After doing the update are you still able to use the HelloOV2 software to use N97 apps etc, does it still work?

I have mine hacked and have Nokia maps etc on it and it’s great, but don’t want to upgrade if the programme won’t work with the new firmware, I know on the website of Hello it says it’s only confirmed working with certain firmwares, but I think this is just to cover them more than anything as they will not have tested any new firmwares etc.

Can someone please confirm before I update?

I don't genuinely believe that there is much new in the firmware. I will see if it actually fixes any bugs, but I see no feature improvement.

By the way, taking off the clear piece of plastic from the screen has been the best thing I ever did in terms of responsiveness from the touch screen! All I need now is a proper case to stop it from getting scratched.

I tried to update right now but no update available yet, whoever the Updater doesn't give the choice to re-install my FW and doesn't give my FW version, so I guess the FW will be release very soon now.

Well I just updated and my phone tells me I have the latest firmware but when I turned my phone on after the update all of my settings were still there, even Helloox and ovi maps were still installed
Has this happned to anyone else ? or did ou have to re install your hacks and settings ?

Is this firmware just a patch ? because when I reinstalled the original firware to get rid of the standby theme bug I had to restore my backup to get my sttings back then re install Helloox and ovi maps.
Brought to you straight from the event horizon of a quantum singularity.
