cardo, since you are in london so you might be working for CSR who is making the Bluecore chip while JH67 is designing the bluespoon
anyway it is logic tht component to make the headset is having shortage coz bluetooth chip tense to always run out of stock fast...i should said it have manufacturing difficulties. |

We're all waiting.
I've been waiting for ages.
When it gets here, it gets here.
There are better things to bother your head with.

Cardo > Right,..the Bluespoon should have been out a while ago,..but due to some delays on materials and so on,..we simply had to "push" the release-date,...these things happen to "almost" everyone,..nothing more to say really
The difference between me (Nextlink) and other companies are,..that I'm telling people where we stand, and how we progress,...none of the others do this.
They just push their release-dates without any notification,..so people dont know whats happening....and of course people get angry, because they dont know whats going on.
We (Nextlink) chose to tell people, right from the beginning, how Bluespoon comes along.
Bajie >
Right my friend
Life is one big "wait" anyway, hehe
SIN >
You can order it directly at Nextlink,..just write them
C96 > Nope,..the qualification has nothing to do with the delay. As I wrote earlier (cardo also mentioned this),..the reason is, that when ONE thing get delayed,..it pushes the rest of the production,..you cant really avoid it,...we just work harder and try to catch up
And one have to remember that nextlink doesnt have the capacity of e.g. Plantronics, Nokia, SE. We're not that many people,..actually only about 18 ! So we cant "just" make up for the lost time,...unfortunately
There are no problems right now,...just working like hell
We want to get the Bluespoon out there too !

Well... Could you tell us a date in which you approximately expect to sell it? I know I am asking much, but your "old firends" at esato will likely be big customers...
Please...
This thing is so cool it could sell A LOT, especially to us here

I'm a bit surprised that the bluespoon does not show up on the Bluetooth SIG list of qualified products?
I've listed below the compagnies who are listed with qualified products using the Headset-HS profile. Are Nextlink owned by someone else, or don't they have to qualify their product because they use the already qualified CSR module?
Or do they simply plan to ship the product to all us thirsting users, and then certify it afterwards (as they use a CSR module, this might be a safe choise?).
Anyway here is the list, taken from this search at the Bluetooth Qualification Program Website (Look for product type: PROD. And notice, just because they are qualified, they don't have to be selling it yet):
Digianswer A/S
GN Netcom A/S
Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
ELSA AG
Fujitsu Limited
GN Netcom
Ericsson Mobile Communications AB
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Emkay Innovative Products
ATO Technology Ltd.

Computer Access Technology Corporation
Motorola

Fujitsu Limited
Blueway
Visteon Corporation

Okay maybe I was a little harsh before, but I still think It's wrong for expansys to continue to advertise the Bluespoon as though they have them in stock ready to go. I'm sure that if I was to somehow obtain one of their Bluespoons they would not thank me for "repeatedly" telling them "not to worry the cheque I sent you is in the post and will get you by next week" When the truth of the matter is that no bloody cheque has even been written out!!! |

jan,
The first batch of bluespoons look like they're 90% there features wise, BUT I need one of the ones that pick up the voice by sensing the vibrations of your jawbone. Any word on how long before those will come out? I need those since I'm in a noisy environment, and the others pick up way too much outside noise. How long before you guys are developing those and actually selling them? 1-2 years? |

Hi Jan and everybody else intresting in the Bluespoon.
I have wonderd if there is a possibility to adjust the end cable of the Invisio in some way and use it as headset for mobile phones. That would give us a head set with yawbone function. I and many others would be very intrested in such device. Since the first bluespoon not going to use that tech. Iam not a engineer so maybe its not possible.
I know it would not be with the bluetooth thechnology. But until bluespoon is with the yawbone mic i would prefer the Invisio which is already developed and manufactured. couldent cost so much to remanufacture the cable to fit to mobile phones.
Best regards viking |

Epedemic: Yes I noticed that there is 2 different T68i certified on the Bluetooth list.
They have different hardware versions too (but so does T68m and T68i, so that might be nothing).
I made a comparison. Notice by the way that all the Ericsson Phones have the old Bluetooth 1.0b, while the Nokia have the 1.1 version. Oh well, Ericsson did have it years before...
For T68x, the "Type" is what can be read under the battery.
T39m(c):
Headset-AG, Sync-Server, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB
R520m(c):
Headset-AG, Sync-Server, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB
T68m(c) 28/9-2001 Type: 1130201-BV/-CN, SW: CXC 125 398/418 R1A/B, HW: KRH 101 001 R1A
Headset-AG, Sync-Server, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB
T68i 14/3-2002, Type: 1130202-BV/-CN, SW: CXC 125 265/326 R1A-R3A, HW: KRH 101 020 R1F
Headset-AG, Sync-Server, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB, Generic Object Exchange
T68i 27/6-2002, Type: 1130203-BV/-CN, SW: CXC 125 450/449 R3A, HW: KRH 101 039 R1F
Headset-AG, Sync-Server, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB, Generic Object Exchange, HandsFree-AG
N6310 : Headset-AG, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, SDAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB, HandsFree-Unit
N6310i: Headset-AG, OPP-Client, OPP-Server, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, OBEX, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB, HandsFree-AG
N8910: Headset-AG, DUN-GW, Fax-GW, GAP, Serial-DevA, Serial-DevB, HandsFree-AG
T39 = T520 = T68m.
The Nokias lack the Sync-Server, but some has SDAP, OBEX and/or Handsfree.
Our T68i adds Generic Object Exchange to the Ericsson coctail.
The new T68i adds the HandsFree-AG profile. You can find an official PDF file about the profile here. Its >>the usage model called "Operating a Phone via an In-Car Device"<<, and it relies on GAP and Serial-Port-Profile - The N6310i and N8910 support it too, maybe that will make Nokias and Ericsson Bluetooth Car kits work with the other phones (I never tried, do they already?) It seems that the purpose is having cars built with this from the factory - no more phone-specific versions of the in-car kit. All phone functions can be controlled from the car-kit.
Oh and the profile also describes how a the car kit (Called AG, Audio Gateway), *may support* routing the audio channel directly from the phone to a headset if one such is present. This does not seem to require anything special from the phone nor the headset. But car kits are not required to do this.
Maybe this "new T68i" will arrive as an upgrade to the our T68i's - maybe it won't - This is not something promised us when we bought the phone, so they might not. Afterall can't survive if the last phone they ever sell is the T68m, and we the users just keep upgrading it
I guess this should actually be moved to a different topic...

About the Jawbone-model,..of course its being worked on,..but it wont be released for a while.
The next Bluespoon should be a model with doublemicrophone (internal and external) for noisy enviroments
Theres no dates for its release as of now.
VIKING > About the Invisio. I'm not a bluetooth-engineer either, hehe, but I'll try to explain a bit about this.
The Jawbone system works great/easily on "one-way" communication,..like a wired radio. The hard thing is to get it to work on a constantly open line, like e.g. a mobile phone headset.
One of the things being tested is the microphone being close to the speaker,..when both are turned on at the same time,..and at the same time using bluetooth,...this is the difficult part,..getting all this to work properly,..but we're getting there
We have been/are talking about Invisio for mobile devices,..others have asked too about this,..I'll let You guys know if anything comes up
Bhaal > I asked SE at the Bluetooth-show about the Bluetooth version 1.0,..its not exactly a "real" 1.0,..I knew this already,..because with those profiles and features, it couldnt be a v.1.0...its that simple, hehe
So SE T68 uses a modified version. Its actually a v.1.1. like the rest
lazarini > Hehe,..Yeah, the Bluespoon will be out very soon,..the latest I've heard is end july + 2 weeks,..soooo
Regards
Jan
