Hi Ares,

Do you know what is the latest firmware that fixes the memory leak? I have an asian set and have updated mine to R9EA001. My p990i is a CDA162007/8 set...

Any information is very much welcome.

Many thanks!

It's best that you refer to the Organizer version number and not the Phone version number. The reason for this is that the Organizer version number gets updated with every new firmware release while the other components may not. So, please always quote the Organizer version number so that everyone "is on the same page" when discussing firmware issues.

Hi,

Sorry about that! My organizer number is CXC162092 R4A13.

I still have memory leaks and i noticed the slide shows tend to be off color and takes a while to focus (looks like it has special effects) and finally display the pictures.

Is it true that P990i that is not gw 1,2,3 or 4 will have thier bugs fixed much later?

Will it help then to change the CDA? As I have briefly read somewhere in this forum?

Any information is appreciated.

Many thanks!

i want to know how the QWERTY works...

from the photos it looks like each button is assigned two letters. does this mean that (for exampple) when you press want to use "W" you'd press that button twice?

OR

does it work like the button has two sides? so if you want "Q" you'd press the left side of the button and if you want "W" you press the right side?

Think I'm going to go into a store and have a play about with an M600... that will give me a good feel for how easy it will be to adjust to that style of keyboard on the P1i. I do lots of one hand texting so this is really important for me.

Also the lanyard strap loop is also meant to serve to prevent accidental presses of the jogdial, which is why it sticks out.

So to everyone that's seen it, is the main frame really metal? Where the se sign is it looks to be brushed metal But along the sides and the top of the back all looks like silver plastic. Is that right?

The whole casing is plastic but looks like brushed metal as you've quoted.

The M600i is a perfect form factor IMO....I've just keep going back to it. I've bought 3 so far and every time I sell it, I keep thinking that it was the best keypad for typing I've used and so I buy another one.

Really you can't beat the form factor. It's great for typing, the screen is not too small, and the phone is very pocketable.

Sorry Mobiman, front is brushed metal. Londonlad123 is right. Back is silver plastic.

I think that they (buttons) only seem bigger..

There is one thing that bothered me on M600 and it is now continuing to do so with P1. The space between screen and keys is too big imho. They could fit P990s or even larger screen into P1 easily and still make it look sexy.

I love the Black and Red keypad combo too. Looks great in the dark against the silver. The bottom keys are spaced more evenly than the M600i.
