Looking at different non-eBay retailers, the E50 is $250-$300, and the E65 is $450-$550. The N95 doesn't get any lower than $700; Nokia sells it directly over the Web for $749 with free shipping.

I believe all E-series have 3G whether they have video calling abilities or not. The E50 is almost 9 months old. Its really affordable, but lacks wifi. The camera is bad either. Why not try the E61i? Its got almost everything!

I'v bought a black E50! Nice little smartfon. The 3rd ed of S60 feels cool.

The only drawback is low RAM (jus 14MB after a fresh boot up).
My fon: Motorola MPX200 (running WindowsMobile 5.0), 512MB RS-MMC, Motorola E398 headset, modified Nokia BL-6C battery!!

If you can, dont install anything in the phone memory. Installed apps in the phone memory make the phone slower. Also, try find a good, low RAM sucking antivirus. I removed F-secure on my E60 and my phone started up quicker, and ran faster!

My experience is a lil different.

I'v found dat apps start faster n works better if installed on phone mem. Esp in the case of games.

And i don't hav any app dat load @ startup. Not even an AV.

Arent u lucky! Fascinating! I have a very interesting dilema. soon im going to purchase a new e-series phone. Im trying to decide between E61i and E65. Both VERY good phones, but after my N72, i expect the same audio quality! Would an E65 owner please tell what the audio is like? I tend to like business phones more than multimedia phones. They (normaly) more powerful! Btw E90 is 700pounds down here...

@bickit

I also have to disagree i also install all my apps and themes to the phone memory as i find that works much faster and i really don't get why anyone uses Anti-Virus as that really is the best way of slowing down your device and wasting it's resources and a total waste of money as well.

I use a E61 and think it s possibly one of the best devices i have ever owned and used and Music encoded @160kbps AAC with a decent set of headphones produces a really good sound IMO.

Marc

This is completely wierd. My E60 and my Friends E61 had issues with speed when installing into phone memory!! Especially the E60! It got slow! A firmware bug or just a problem with early types?

can't say, and I never updated my e61 in 10 months... But dogmann's right, not to mention that many apps MUST be installed in ph-memory to work properly! Maybe your friends tried firstversions of apps that weren't quite alright yet?

Now, i got ALL the software on my friends E61, apart from the standard software (f-secure virus and office suite, etc) there as follows: Adobe pdf, LCG jukebox, fring, mig33 beta, mxit, mobile weather, ownskin animator, handyzip, handy keylock, wifi finder, wireless keyboard app and about 700mb of music on the card. It has 38mb internal memory left. What could be wrong? It only has two or 3 apps running at the same time and startup takes 1.5 mins!!

...by "startup"... What do you mean? Turning it on? Or turning on an app?
My e61 can take a minute to turn on with a nearly full 2gb-card, but once it's on it's really fast! (my k750, btw, with a 512 mb-card took nearly as long to turn on, but was much slower once running!). [addsig]

Thats switching the phone on. It used to be 40secs, when it just had music only. Btw it has 8 themes. 3 in phone memory, the rest on the card. I think ill have it flashed, though my friend wount be pleased. I thnk its the software, My E60 had the same issue. Now, seeing as people are pointing in the direction of the E61, what would be the name of the firmware(0S) upgrade that made the E61s Mp3 player very loud?

...ooops, no idea - I came across warnings not to update cause the volume would be reduced in line with eu-regulations re. Noise-limits
i should mention I bought my e61 from vodafone Ireland who release phones much later than uk and europe, but often seem more sorted out/less buggy! i haven't updated a fw once! (6680, k750, w810, n91 etc etc...) [addsig]
