It is clear that consumers can see beyond speces and version numbers and buy phones that provide a good user experience. Of all previews I have read so far, I haven't seen many complains about the screen and neither the lack of MT (the lack of MT has been mentioned, but more like a side note rather than a failure). Beside, MT and screen colors seem to be fixable with SW updates. Number of available apps is similar as for any other Androd phone and considering how short period Android has been available compared to Apple store, its no wonder there is much less Android apps.
So basically, we still don't see your point.

This is really disappointing... as I come here to read information about the X10...
All there is here rubbish...
It is all good having a discussion... which is the purpose... but this is a load of crap now...
The X10 is one of the better spec android which should be available my end of march...
The iPhone 3GS... does not have half the specs and functionality compared to the X10...
The HTC Desire... lacks in the camera department and i'm sure the multimedia will be poor compared to the X10...
Lets compare when they are out...

@Arne Anka: Excuses, excuses. I never said that it must have the latest and greatest technology known to mankind to be success. That's what some of you try to imply. All I said was that it should at least include very basic functionality from several years ago, like more than 64k colors, EQ, FM radio, front camera, let alone AMOLED, multitouch, XENON, HD recording and latest OS.
Yes, I am aware some of the above is fixable with software upgrade but it will only come late this year.
Whether it will be success or not I won't speculate, I wish it best of luck and we shall see. My guess is that SE will soon release another device which will be everything X10 should have been from the beginning. They usually do and it's usually too late.

Compare a phone that is not even out with phones that have already one year in stores?? This is funny....
OMG.... some people here just can't get it ...
New iphone will be in stores BEFORE SUMMER... Motorola has already A2.0 phone WM7 phones(by htc,even microsoft) will be out in q3 2010... so let's make a real comparison... 
One more time SE is far behind competition ... they had a chance to make a REAL high end phone , and the almost done it with the design and the CPU but constant delays, cheap screen and OLD ...REALLY OLD OS just killed the project before it hits the stores...
It is your money..i love SE but i don't want to spend another ~600 euros in a couple of months when WM7 phones and new iphone will be out!
Take a look at what being successful means.. :

Im pretty sure the iPhone will probably not have bluetooth transfer and an 8mpx camera...
Again what you dont understand... maybe it is cause you dont want to understand... 80% of consumer dont give a crap which android version it comes with...
DELAYS... This is meant to be out in Q1... which we are still in... I would moan if it does not come out in Q1 which ends in END of MARCH...
So you need to really get over it and move on...

Sorry to go Off Topic, not that it seems to worry many of you on here, but I would really like to know where you're getting your info from re: both the iPhone release and WM7. You have implied in other posts that you might be a bit of an industry insider, holding prototypes, knowing things that others don't....
I have had nothing from anywhere else that suggests the iPhone is coming that soon, goodness knows there was enough fanfare around the iPad, which I was very disappointed in.
Most of what I have read elsewhere suggests WM7 won't be available to consumers on any device prior to 2011?
As for your definition of success, what is it? Driving a Lexus? Having iPads in your headrests? Please give us the full benefit of your wisdom.
I'm not saying SE or anyone else are best. From their recent sales figures it is obvious that SE are suffering, however Apple are very rare in bucking this trend at the mo. I am just saying that of the confirmed devices, that look certain to be out within the next month, the X10 ticks all of the boxes that are important to me.
@all: That's a personal choice/opinion, lets all try and avoid the personal insults?
