I see what you're saying. I'm guessing that these other phones are close to a 16:9 ratio where as the X1's screen might be a little wider compared to that (landscape mode I mean).
Maybe somebody should take a pic of the phone with a credit card over it or something to get a good general idea of the screen size.
800 x 480 px is exactly 15:9 screen ratio
800/480 = 15/9 = 1.6666(6) |

Maybe stupid thought but.....
If the short sides are narrower than 16:9 shouldn't it be more like 17:9....

I have an impression that the pixels commonly used in the LCD screen are not even in width and height. What I mean is that they might be a little elongated, which could easily explain the resolution not matching the aspect ratio.
And sorry my bad english when it comes to professional vocabulary. not native. Hope you kinda got the point there.

Henry

yes its not a little wider, its too wide in the landscape mode. and why to take some pics, the pics are all over the net u can see vedios and pics .. but you will not see it as i have seen it until u hold the device in your hands .. but i'll try to take some pics next time cause i've called my friend today and asked him to show it to me again cause i loved it .. lol
cheers

Xperia X1 video playback looks quite impressive not sure what codec, I would be impressed if its h264, 24fps so i gather thats its the x1i
I am only speculating,
2 minutes 40 seconds into the clip

Hi Humble,
Interesting clips but on the first one i noticed he needed the stylus for all actions as the activation areas where to small for using a finger. Also i thought the X1 was using Micro SD cards yet he seemed to be putting a 8GB M2 card in it, anyone know anymore about that? I also really hope they make it much faster than it is in that clip as it really was slow to react.
The second app showed Touch Flo on a HTC device but hopefully it will be just as good and a fast on the X1 as that seems to work really well without a stylus.

That TouchFlo 3D program "looks" pretty, but, it doesn't look very intuitive and functional to me. The pics don't move with the thumb swipe (they move after the fact). You have to slide your finger to get to the app you want instead of just pressing one location. How do I know what swipe will give me what screen? Can you get into other WM programs from TouchFlo3D ? It seems like something that is cute for the first moment then a PITA once the novelty wears off.
Question: the TouchFlO3d GUI is different from TouchFlo "gesture recognition" system software...correct?
In the X1 video, he also says that he is using an M2 card instead of SDHC (I can't tell what it really is by looking at it).

Hey,like it or not, that's my opinion on you two, clowns. Worthless are your biased opinions on how crappy SE is and how good Nokia is. That's worthless. And all your posts are about that. Pffft!

Actually most of the things he is doing with stylus are well possible to handle with finger, I owned HTC tytn and kaiser, and I could handle pure wm6 with finger, so that big buttons should not really be a problem. That panel interface at least is not a problem.
What comes to the memorycard used, let me clarify. That is definetely 1 gig (not 8 gigs) sandisk microSD card, i bet my own head for it. The logo matches with "D" and at 5:22 you can see when the finger is behind the card, that it is not square shaped, but angular like microsd card. Dont you worry.

The screens between the Xperia and the Touch Diamond are quite noticeable when compared side to side, What do you think?
at the end of the clip

Here you are acknowledging that you go offtopic, and still do that. I hate people like you. People like you = hell. IN YOUR FACE. Now you see why this kind of posts should not exist???

That is the only reason what makes it really hard to decide between X1 and touch pro. The screen is probably much better with X1, but everything else, including the looks is better with the touch pro. |

That's interesting. What do you think makes the TouchPro look better? The fuller keyboard? I don't know of any area where TouchPro exceeds except for RAM. |
