They were talking about a fusion image signal processor
Sony doesnt have custom isp foe mobiles right.. Bionz is just software right?
Is sony hinting on using a custom isp on its dual cam phone?
Anyone got a clue |

So.. Yeah.. I couldn't watch the live stream but did watch the recording.. The slip was true.. His body language changed after the slip.. He was definitely nervous.. So maybe there was a new device to be announced.. The xz2 seems kinda like last year's xzs..
I think the surprise that they were talking about was the teaser.. |

Just my speculation, but I think the XZ2 Premium was meant to be announced today but got pulled at the last minute. I mean look at all the evidence we've got...
1) Sony certified 3 devices recently. 1 device got pulled from the FCC
2) The Sony Mobile social media account announced 3 devices at MWC
3) The presenter at MWC slipped up and said XZ2 Premium. I'm guessing he practiced the speech with that phone in it, and messed up.
4) Sony showed off upcoming camera tech with a cryptic message of stay tuned for what's to come? They've never done that.
Now look, obviously they don't want a repeat of last year where the XZ Premium was announced and then released about 4 months later. They're announcing and releasing these phones within a month. If the XZ2 Premium was delayed, they would't want a repeat of last years fiasco where they announce it and we're waiting months and months for the device. If the theory is true, who knows why it was delayed. Could be a component problem. One person on Resetera speculated that Sony and Qualcomm might have wanted to make this the first 5G device, but couldn't get it going in time. Who knows. It was certainly interesting how the Qualcomm rep was playing up their love relationship with Sony.
The device that was pulled off the FCC was a 5.7in device, it was later recertified but it is unknown if this is the xz2 or something else.
That tweet with the 3 devices was deleted of that Xperia account, so while maybe 3 models were initially planned, Sony was only going to announce 2, granted they did give a sneak peek at a new dual camera device so we kind of got 3 devices.
Maybe the slip up during the presentation was for real or it could have been an accident and just coincidence, we'll never know.
The delay of the xz premium could have been due the the exclusivity Samsung got with the 835 since no other 835 phone shipped until July 2017, no doubt if there was no exclusivity I imagine other phones would have shipped before July 17.
Maybe it is a 5g network move who knows. Does anyone know if 3g devices launched before 3g networks did? Or was it after the network were deployed?
Also is anyone able to screen cap the photo of the dual camera device from the video? I'd do it but I am on mobile now.
the device was pulled of fcc then certified again, we dont know screen size of this device @fcc documents , but we know this device hasnt splitter for audio/charge(so it has 3.5mm jack probably)
there was also uaproof for h81xx but was pulled.
i dont know whats wrong with sony but
they said xz2 premium accidentally, they show two camera setup.
5mp front cam is not that bad to me,but still f2.0 lens while there are f1.5 and f1.6 isnt a good competitive move.

Think so too, maybe its a good thing they pulled it. Issue is I cant wait any longer and cannot purchase xz2 because its gonna be to expensive getting 2 highe end phones within 6 months... Nokia 7plus is half price and would keep me going till premium, somehow like the design better...
Anyway, hoping for. Real bomb of a premium soon |

guys here is something worth reading about the camera:
There is some gratification in this upgrade, though, owed more to Qualcomm's help than anything Sony itself did: the XZ2 is the first Xperia phone to plug directly into Qualcomm's Image Signal Processor, which means a couple of things. First, the processing should be considerably better than the proprietary method Sony used on previous devices; and it allows for 4K HDR video capture, which is heralded along by the Snapdragon 845 platform.
It's safe to say Sony's phone camera output has been of questionable quality in recent years. The company has struggled to keep up with the industry's biggest names like Samsung, Google, and Huawei, despite manufacturing the sensors that go into nearly every phone out there. While I didn't get to do side-by-side comparisons in my short time with the XZ2, Sony assured me that lessons have been heeded and users can expect a significantly better camera experience this time around, despite the lack of hardware changes. |

That's interesting.
But still... can't improve a lot since it's still F2.0, No OIS, No optical zoom -_-
