Bringing us back in history here, SE announced the X10 for DoCoMo quite a while later after the international announcement; they'll be doing the same here.
I'm going to say it's going to be much harder for SE's next generation DoCoMo phone to repeat the SO-01B (X10)'s success. There's just so many many many other attractive (and Android) touch phones; it's obvious that competitors (particularly Sharp with it's dominance, usually the best seller every season) to respond to market demands and improve their phones. |

Second phone with optical zoom within a few weeks. Looks like crap but in four month we have February - two years ago Satio was announced and there is still not successor in sight?!
So something better is cooking and served soon... |

Guys, give Avmaxfan a break. Some of his details were wrong but others are correct. If an announcement of a major phone is to come, certain people who come on this site would be invited so they should know if anything is happening. I have been told that there should be an announcement around this sort of time. They want to reveal the WP7 device and more so now because the OS is selling well.
I'm not hearing much about the 'X12' for the minute. Its the X10 successor so it will be quite similar to it, some of the specs mentioned here are making it way too expensive. I imagine that the hardware is very similar to the X10 which isn't bad, only certain aspects will be improved i.e. multi touch screen and camera. It should have Android 2.3 or whatever they call it which is apparently coming around November 11th. Its not impossible that the announcement will be after that. The X10's life cycle isn't over just yet as  have given the 2.1 update in order to prolong its sales since its done well. That means you shouldn't expect the successor to be released in Q1. Regardless of what Bert says, the release of it will be Q2 or Q3.
The PSPhone is doing the X10 style early leak and long wait in order to generate interest strategy. Its expected late next year and that is likely to change because the PSP2 is coming around that time as well. The Xperia brand is being milked so its time to shift back to Entertainment Unlimited. Vivaz and Vivaz Pro replacements to come but maybe not on Symbian. I'm sure you would like a Vivaz Pro with Android then again, Symbian got a cash injection recently. |

There is no doubt that there will come a new Xperia from .... And a WP7...
The question is when and what the specs will be.
I think we all can be pretty sure that it will be sharper than the X10...
I personally love Timescape and I hope they get it running really smooth this time... |

As a former big Sony/// fan, I think we now have to start to face the reality which in my view is, they are a dying company. Still now Im coming back to this site to check on possible future devices that might replace my Iphone, that is working just perfectly. So high was the bondage Sony/// could establish with their customers....10years ago!
Now they only surpass themselves in delaying, not delivering, failed products. It is a bit sad but such is life! |

 If the X10 successor is released in 2011 Q3, I don't think that has a chance of recovering even a small part of the market share they lost in 2010. In fact their market share will drop again... Even though the PSP phone will have no competition, I don't think it will sell in huge amounts if it's not a real high end device.

Right now market share is the least of their concerns. Have you noticed that they've finally turned to profit this year? During the past 2 years they were holding on to their percentage shares they were constantly losing money. Big time.
What do you think is more important for a firm in SE's position - selling loads of phones or actually making money? It's all about priorities.

It will come... Just wait...
Now that the wind has turned for , I donīt thhink they have plans on slowing down... To stay in the market they will have to release newer and sharper models... |
