There is no point in having a discussion with Saka... as it seems to go round in circles...
It is clear there are many android handsets out there and what matters is which will suit the user more...
Surprise I don't hear too many complaints that the iPhone does not have this does not have that... but again it is APPLE
Also this is probably the first android handset (X10) to fully implement BLUETOOTH

Yes there´s no point! Its true that X10 misses a lot of thing, and if SE put all this things nobody will buy the X10 sucessor because X10 will be already a perfect phone.
But then again they dont need to think about the future already because their present are not that good and maybe depend too much on this latests phones, so at least they should have include things like radio, equalizer and android 2.1.
Forget Xenon and Amoled, they wont do it until the competition up the game.
This phone selling point will be only the snappy UI and timescape ...and maybe enough because there is no android phone out there with much better specs.
(mediascape is nice but with no EQ, the sound will be probably be flat and that sucks big time and will ruin all the experience) |

The SE guy said it that there was no EQ because of the Android OS. Maybe you guys can tell me if you know of any other Android handset with an EQ. At the moment I cant even find a music app that has that feature. The only thing I could find was a volume hack and some coded EQ tweaking on the XDA site.

Why cant someone develop a proper music player app with an EQ! Like Miguel states I dont like to listen to my music flat either.I like to boost my lows and highs and drop the mids.
Xenon Flash,HD recording, front camera dont bother me and like others have mentioned there are other handsets out there that have those features. The radio will be resolved with the MW600. In fact you dont even need to connect it to handset to use it. I am definitely getting one of those. The colours will be updated to 16M when the upgrade to 2.x takes place but will we even notice this? The biggies for me are EQ and the screen quality which is where SE have excelled in the past have should have delivered on the X10. Switching to Android is no excuse. They have modified 1.6 to add additional features and I am sure they could have added a Walkman App to Mediascape with EQ presets if they wanted to. This would have been a first on Android. For me I am not looking at any other handset. I`m an SE guy and I`ll probably get flamed for that. I will either get the X10 or stick with my G900 until something better form SE comes along. |

There is one media player for Android with equalizer - "Audio Player WithEQ Platinum". So it's not from the OS.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

Thanks for sharing your hands on experience. Even though recent SE devices have fared well in the music department despite lacking an equalizer, it is indeed a sore point. I would gladly manage even with equalizer presets as on my G700. They do make a difference. Am not too worried about the screen though. Perhaps the lighting at the SE stand wasnt adequate. What was your overall impression of SE's layer? Do let us know if there was anything other than the ordinary

I can certainly live without Android 2.1 OR without front camera OR without EQ OR without 16M colors OR without XENON flash OR without HD recording. But X10 misses Android 2.1 AND it misses EQ AND FM radio AND front camera AND... well you get the point.
Neither does IPhone have most of those stuff, but it sells pretty well anyway, so no we don't get your point. |

Bir pricey for an app and not visually pleasing. However this with the volume hack could be a solution although one apps settings could override the other.
@Karun. I wasnt blown away with the layers but I spent most of my time in mediascape listening to the music. In all honesty I dont see what the big deal about Mediascape is all about. Its similiar to Media on the G700/G900 other than the infinity feature. It may look visually different but I didnt see anything to get excited about.
For those out there I am not an X10 hater. The handset is pleasing to look at compared to the HTC offerings and now that there are apps and tweaks out there to modify the sound I will probably go for the X10. I am disappointed in SE. They could have made it so much more. Do others feel that the Timescape/Mediascape features offer something revoultionary as SE seem to think or just marketing hype? |

looking at some of the demo, i think the timescape and mediascape are something big and it is a signature application from SE. To be able to read all the messages from various application without having to log in to the particular application is so cool and very very convenient.
however some of the features are available currently... for example the facebook account is linked to the email account, and any updates on the facebook will be notified through email...and you can reply straight away without going to facebook |
