@Aya: Maybe like Glo, your line has to be activated for wap and mms. Try calling customer care for activation, and let us know if it works. Let us also know if it is really free, you know we're all suckers for freebies. |

Yes! Yes!!! Yes!!!!! I'm browsing via MTN GPRS!!!!!!!!
Its smooth and a bit faster than Glo, but that could simply be because its not jam-packed with traffic yet.
I am also using it to retrieve and respond to mails via my 9500's built-in mail client, meaning I can also use it as a modem with my PC. Great!
I have downloaded and responded to mails, browsed Web and WAP, and logged unto Yahoo Messenger successfully - and so far, my balance is intact
MTN should surprise us and keep this thing free till further notice o.

Aaah! 75k!!! If that's true, its vintage MTN.
Meanwhile, I have removed my Glo SIM from my 9500 till further notice (why are you looking at me like that?)

@2tek. Thanks again for the tip-off.
For setting up email on your device (remember the account must be POP/IMAP), you need the following info: - login username - password -mail server e.g. mail.gosmartmobile.com
Dont forget to activate SMTP authentication (for sending out mails) if your account requires that

Try www.softhome.net. I am sure that there are many others. Yahoo, Hotmail and co usually offer POP/IMAP to paid subscriptions.
I havent attempted to stream yet, but now that you mention it... give me a few minutes.
I use a 3rd party application called Agile Messenger. Its a free Symbian app. There are a number of such in java format on the Net. Google a bit and you never know...

AYA , i am dissappointed! so MTN is now active on gprs, and u couldnt even notify me by txt, well, guys i have been very busy with work, and thanks to Brym's prayers for me, i have been given a raise at work, i have keyed in all these mtn settings and still getting 'network not responding' errors on my good old sagem my-x5m, what next? i heard someone say we should not leak out the info to customer care now, so, someone here should to me what to do, cause i missed the freeby with Glo and i aint gonna miss on Mtn, having being an Advocate for years now, AYA bear me witness . Or is because i have N32 remaining, but i still have access days till October. |

@angel: Restart your phone and try again. It may take a couple of tries for the network to acknowledge your request. Happened to me yesterday (if you check my last few posts).
