I tried Cyanogen007 with MIUI and FreeX10 Beta3, both were excellent, other annoyances were with the built-in Web browser chowing through my battery, it also had some issues with inline editing on some websites where if i left the textfield and came back it wouldnt take me to the end of the last word i wrote, Google Goggles wouldn't work properly, believe it or not the lack of TrackID (quite amazing that similar sw dont work as well as it does), and the random 'Force closures' i would get, there were days where it would be like dominos and app after app would go down, they arent major but were enough to get to me, the MAIN ones though were the Camera/camcoder, they began to drive me nuts, the fact that i knew how capable the Camera is made it all unbearable. Ive installed the Arc Home replacement for X10 and its flying, just feels so much more complete now

very true about Trip, you have to wait for the 100th release of his ROM as anything before has bugs and is just rushed, the comments in his threads say it all i guess.

Tsepz If it werent for the little Nikon I bought Id most probably switch back as well.My apps, widgets, themes, font changing ect is down to a minimal.Keeps the phone nice and speedy. Its bare with just what I need.
The battery drain for me came when I started installing apps and using widgets. Now instead of downloading an app foe example XDA,Engadget,BbcNews,CnetNews,I just bookmark the site in my Browser.Certain apps kill your battery.Engadget was a monster.

Yeah those sort of apps i never touch, i once got the XDA app and deleted it a day later, i prefered the web browser,i can imagine Engadget was a hog, their website is unbelievably bloated even Opera Mini has issues with it.

it seems BB are feeling the pressure from WhatsApp: http://www.bgr.com/2011/03/03[....]ill-launch-on-android-and-ios/ cant wait, some of my friends have been on my case as to why i didnt get a BB and instead got the X10, cause the X10 doesnt have BBM revenge will be sweet when i have BBM, a brilliant Web browser, HD video, awesome apps and the best OS around all in one

Tsepz I need your ohnest opinion. You've planted a seed in my mind now about going back to SE Eclair 2.1 because of the one word you used."Complete" (I know exactly what you mean )
Speed? I was just about to put on 2.1 again and then I thought, can I go without my phone been so ultra fast.I'm in two minds.
What does Quadrant Benchmark score that latest 2.1 on the X10?
I think I just want you to tell me if the slight lag is still there in 2.1? I dont think I could deal with that if I had to switch.
I dont get FC's on apps or reboots or battery drain.
I think once this camcorder gets up and running this FreeX10 will finally feel "Complete"
Maybe I should just wait till something major happens and just keep running FreeX10.

The latest update is faster than what we had before, it has tremendous lag in the beginning though when its setting everything up but after that is fast, Mediascape is also faster but does have its moments of jerkyness. What ive done is ive installed the XPERIA Arc Launcher for X10 (it comes in a .rar package) i didnt install the photo widget that comes in the package as that slowed my X10 down even when i was on Froyo.
If the Camera isnt a big deal and you dont realy miss the whole 'XPERIA look' then stick with FreeX10.

Wow Tsepz. What a nightmare.Thought Id get the baseband thing sorted out and put the latest SE firmware on my phone with PC Companion.Update was successful.Switched on phone.Boot up to animation.Reboot.Stuck in loop.Baseband issue with newest firmware.Had to download firmware and flash.Everything working cool but I don't know how long I can stand it.My phone seems to weigh more.lol Going to give it the weekend and if it freaks me out then I'll return to FreeX10.

yeah takes a little getting used to, what helped me with the flashback to 2.1 was that i had already updated to latest 2.1 which has the new baseband and used 2.2 ROMs with that new baseband, so i just used xRecovery to do it, i never want to see Flashtool again.

I would highly recommend trying the Arc launcher: http://www.xperiax10.net/2011[....]auncher-now-available-for-x10/ my X10 hasnt had any slowdowns since the one it had at 1st boot after installing this ROM. I advise you avoid installing the Photo widget, it can bring your phone to a crawl.

Forgot how pretty everything is.Like the Phone book with the nice big contact photo on the top.Mediascape in landscape is pretty cool. Its just the side swipe that always gets to me.That slight delay.Freaks me out.Browser also seems slower but overall Its a nice change I have to admit. As you said with all its cons you do feel like you have a 'complete' system.
Also one finger zoom in Mediascape photos is pretty cool.Does the job just fine.

Tough one that, Hobbster. I think the Proteas will win though. England's bowlers aren't impressing in this tournament so far..
