This is what he posted

Z4 hardware parameters. Front camera 500M. Rear 2070M. TF card support. Dual SIM card. High-profile display with 2K! ! Common configuration 1080P! ! So he was on the mark, here is what worries me then.

I heard the news of the Z5 will be released in 2016 CES. IFA couldn't have posted!!

Wouldn't the model change from E to F? Unless the models are to be shown off as a press release in 2015 (November, December) and a CES introduction with the snapdragon 820?

So the rumors about 2 Z4 with different screen resolutions where true after all.

Verizon sure know how to butcher a perfectly good looking phone.

So before Samsung's Galaxy S and Note range became big, the USA networks did the same with the OG Galaxy S, each one of them took it and changed the look, except for T-Mobile, I think.

I guess this is what Sony want to try to avoid when entering the U.S. market and why their phones are not widely available there, as the networks will bully them and force them to change stuff and add stuff that is unnecessary. So they go with Verizon as they are the biggest and T-Mobile since they don't ruin the phone.

@ascariss
This is a newer info that came a month later: http://www.xperiablog.net/201[....]ny-xperia-model-numbers-outed/
Maybe sony changed their mind and decided to announce e6683 at ifa and z3+ naming to me also suggest that. z4v is just abomination of it made by verizon that should be ignored if you are not a verizon consumer and z4 is only relevant for japan. z3+/z4/z4v are named e65xx, none of them start with e66xx.

I posted the model #s from the xperia article here a bit back

http://www.esato.com/board/vi[....]=207716&start=2475#post3222303

My point is regarding when the model is to be announced, 2015 or 2016, since if it is announced in 2015, it is still an E model, where as any new model announcement at CES should technically use the F numbering.

What will be in 2016? who knows. what we do know, e = 2015... it doesn't mean that they won't announce a main at q1 as well. we just know that this q4 main flag won't be delayed.
personally, i think sony will announce a main flag at mwc as well and with it start a one year cycle - quite logical as it will rival "s7" and "g5". i guess sony is not ready yet for one flag per year.

nah ntuh dia...

E68xx, E66xx/67xx (I forgot it), and E58xx are registered in Early 2015 in Indonesia, they are Z5 Series (excluding Tablet). So IFA might be the announcements of them, otherwise they'll change the names into F68xx, F66xx/67xx, and F58xx if those will be announced next year

So I think they'll announce it in IFA, because of Exxxx numbering.. Why IFA? because Sony haven't hold any special event since 2009 (When they announced a flagship), and there's no way that they will hold a sole event for their own company..

And if they announce the flagship in IFA, there's no way that they'll use S820, they'll stick with S810, or S808, they'll stick with qualcomm, they'll not move to different manufacturers, believe me

The Z5 Series are already registered here, so they'll either still use that crap 810, or 808

It would be stupid if SONY continue to use that high temp SD810. I don't see the good point to use it at all.

No one can blame sony for using s810. it is the most viable option, there is no really better option on the market. regardless, they need a new flag for q4 as that is their strategy for 2015 so they will use whatever is available. take it or live it. if you don't want s810 then either wait for next year, buy z3 in a discounted price or buy non sony device. end of story.

Qualcomm are the only SoC vendor that can produce at a large enough volume to meet market demands.
They built their leadership off of great SoC's like the old Snapdragon S4 through to SD801. Then they got caught off-guard by Apple and their $$$$ and produced the hot garbage (pun definitely intended) that is the SD810.

Now, there are too few competitors aside from Samsung that can match their volume. Now, as far as I can guess, Sammy will probably horde most of their best silicone for themselves - because f**k everyone else. Sony probably has little chance to actually use Samsung's best SoC, and so have to default to Qualcomm.

I think maybe people misunderstood me, I was referring to what huiyi wrote back in March regarding the Z5 coming out at CES and not IFA, look up I posted his quote. The reason I mention this is he was spot on with the Z4 info and if he correct on the Z5 and CES then it may not be at IFA is what I am saying. But the device can still be introduced in 2015 via press release and then official product launch at CES in early January with SD820. Of course this is all speculation and it is highly unlikely for Sony to pull such a maneuver.

@amirprog

What about the exynos? Assuming Sony could get their hands on it from Samsung.

@AlvinZahranM

Things that have been registered can be re-registered or updated with new information, or even cancelled.

If Sony can provide a significant camera update of the Z3, I'll consider the next flagship if not, I can stick to my Z3 for now. The new RX100 mark 4 looks pretty tasty with its specs but is hella expensive.

Meizu regularly use Samsung Exynos CPUs, but my guess why most others don't is due to the price Samsung probably sell the Exynos at if extra units need to be made as well as the optimisations required as they are heavily customised, AFAIK. With Samsung phone sales falling we may see them take advantage of Qualcomm's mistake.

The upcoming Exynos 7422 that is said to come with the Note 5 apparently will apparently come with a whole lot built-in to the chip, from the RAM, Antenna, NAND etc... all in the SoC. If they want to continue making profit, it may be in their best interest to sell the 7422, or give everyone else the S6 CPU (7420) and then keep the 7422 exclusive to Note 5.
