hehehe.. this is beginning to be an Eldar-hates-SE conversations....
but anyway... max is right... these 2 persons took the review at a very different sides... not that extremely opposite.. but just.. different, thats all!
obviously Eldar aint good at photography (its out of the question), but for me, i always want to see the phones at Eldar's hand, on a very bad day... hehehe.
i dunno.. its somewhat natural how the phone behaves on if being held by an average user. i really dont mind the bashing... let him be. then a simple google here i see Virgile's shots... kewl! makes me think, does that phone can do that?! white paper says its loaded and very capable, Eldar says nope it aint, its full of BS, and alot of marketing strategy that made it look like its capable... then Virgile says, stupid lil fella, just use tha phone this way and itll be all capable.. hell yeah!
but personally, i think C905 will perform better than the other Cybershots. and this is gonna be my next baby.... if and only if W902 wont dance along the way.. teehee... choices choices choices!

Well yeah you are right. I also agree for you about C905. It WILL be successful cybershot phone. Besides, it has some connectivity options that other cybershots (in fact many phones) lacked. It is not only the camera making this phone excellent. Look at the WLAN for e.g. C905 seems to be one of the very rare phones with wifi (if not the only one atm)... Yes, I know there are plenty of smartphones til now (P990, P1, W960, G900), but the C905 is the first non-smartphone from that supports such great camera, features and connectivity options. I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be successful. Only thing that can stop this phone from fame, are the bugs. If it is buggy it won't succeed, but if it's not, it may become a real all rounder and bring back the good old K750 days.

yes.. good points..
now the Cybershot line is beginning to be an elegant snapper with an extreme sense virtuosity...
i just hope SE can maintain that pace.

They can if they want to. Anyway, they shouldn't leave the walkman series behind... They could enhance them with, at least, good 5mp autofocus camera (not mediocre one like C902 or K850) and work a bit to remove the bugs of tbe DB3150 platform. That would bring them to the top.
The only thing why lost part of their customers, are the bugs imho... They change platforms often. They first went from DB2000 to DB2010, after some phones and the time when the bugs were solved they made a new one DB2020 and new bugs appeared again... Once DB2020 bugs were solved, here is the DB3150... It has been improved a lot since it's release, but it has a lot more to do too.. So I hope C905 platform for e.g. is not buggy as other DB3150 phones (well not all of them... but at least not buggy as K850)... Nobody want the K850 case to repeat again... Not with the phone that is meant to be the ultimate all rounder...

People, a point and shot camera it must be just that ! Point and Shot ! While the handfull of freaks among us does not mind fiddling with controls after 'pointing' and before 'shooting', the vast majority of users do mind !
Mario, myself and Hiron have now replied to this 3 times. Adjusting the EV down 1 or 2 steps is not exactly 'fiddling' with the settings is it? The control is under your thumb as you take the picture.
If you can see the picture is overexposed in the viewfinder, you don't take the picture do you? I have a £300 Panasonic TZ-5, which is Point and Shoot, but like every Point and Shoot camera in the world it won't get it right everytime.
You have the wrong idea what a Point and Shoot Camera does. A point and shoot camera doesn't mean that it should always set up the perfect light balance and focus 100% everytime, like you are suggesting. It just means the estimated required settings are made for you, but it's up the Photographer, not the camera to take a good picture!
Eldar takes bad pictures, not because the camera is poor, but because he is a bad photographer. Even my 65 year old mother knows that when the picture 'looks to bright', to try again! Yet Eldar posts these pictures, suggesting it's all the camera is capable of.
You can see from Virgile Fontaines pics what the C905 can do. Clearly there is nothing at all wrong with the firmware or hardware, just a bad Photographer with an aversion.

People who buy camphones expect it to deliver decent pics, straight out of the box, people who don't, buy DSLR's, bring on the next set of lame excuses please.

What excuses? The phone does deliver great pictures out of the box. Did I suggest any modifications? No. Just use it properly on a sunny day!
Everyone else on the web posted great pictures, but Eldar did not. Wow, what a surprise.

I thought we were done with conspiracy theories here on Esato , It's always sad to see sane people huffing and puffing with all their might trying to elevate the average into something substantialy better .
C905 pics are fine, but no better than the innov8 i have in the house

Again, I never said that either. I know the C905 pictures and the InnoV8 are the same quality. I have never even mentioned that.
I'm saying people who can't take a good photograph in clear daylight have no place criticising them.

excuse me but
even k800 and k750 suffers from out of focus pics with minor handshakes. just like what eldar experiences with c905. but it does not mean that its not a good cam phone.

It may have little problems with shaking hands when focusing, but the things will get interesting when camera driver modding for C905 start. As it's platform will be cracked soon, it would be modded to death imho.

Not wishing to labour the point, but, i have seen (as have many members here and elsewhere) hundreds, if not thousands of pictures taken by Eldar, using hundreds of different devices, never heard a pipsqueek about his photographic efforts untill this thread came along, that kinda places the onus on the errors of judgement and abilities being laid at other peoples door's IMO.
