yeah, cos there arent any yet... its weird, cos normally at upcoming models there are already some earlier pix to find, even monthes before the release. amybe se havene even decided yet how should it look like. but if there isnt a design yet in their mind, have really no idea when it will be out. normally when hw, fw and design are already choosen, then they still should start testing and experimenting, how it works "live". otherwise they ll make everything in the last sec and then the usually bugs will be given and with the coming fw upgrades will be all fine at the end.

Hey,
I decided I'd make my own concept of the P5i for the hell of it. It's not necessarily what it will be based on fact, more based on my perceptions of what it should be like. Enjoy.

This doesn't look so fantastic in the low res shown here, if you want a better picture contact me and I will send one. Cant upload anything bigger on Esato >D.

If dedicated music keys are included, I think it'd be more intuitive to put them UNDER the keyboard. This way, when your fingers brush against the bottom of the keypad they won't activate the (presumably) touch-sensitive music buttons, and having them above would also give more room for the top of the QWERTY so your fingers don't get cramped in that edge that's next to the upper portion of the phone.

Is P5i a business phone or jack-of-all-trades phone? I'm quite confuse here.
I'm expecting the device to be more than a business phone. I hope someone could clarify this.

@Mizzle or @PK:
Can you say that the Pnext is better in terms of user interface and features than the Samsung F490 (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_f490-review-210.php), because that phone sure looks good (both literally and metaphorically speaking)!

If the so called P5i is anything like these drawings depict, it should probably be called W5i. I see nothing here that suggests it is a P series phone.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

But that would also prompt us to ask why a Walkman phone would have a sliding qwerty keyboard.

Drsilverworm:

If you would have ever used a slide out qwerty keyboard on a phone, you would know that you usually operate it using your thumbs only, holding the handset two-handed as you type. I maintain that touch sensitive music keys would be great there, not only from the aforementioned ergonomics perspective but also from an aesthetic design perspective. It would look great to have as many of the buttons as possible with the keyboard. That way, the device looks as clean as possible when closed, and when opened it would have the psychological effect on the user that they are 'in control'. A few common design philosophies.

To quote Eldar from Mobile Review:

'Let’s try to think of some ways the user could make use of the new HTC’s design. The first thing that comes across you mind is the “desktop” scenario with the TyTN II lying on a table with its display tilted up, which makes it resemble a notebook. And in theory this setup should make for convenient text typing.

But in practice it turns out that this setup isn’t the best way for texting due to several reasons. Fist, since the device itself is pretty much portable, the thumbboard is smallish as well, that’s how come you won’t be happy about using both hands for typing (like you do when dealing with a standard-size keyboard). Your fingers will always tangle and stand in each other’s way, so you won’t even see key caption or even the keys themselves. But even if you manage to get used to this, you will need to type with only two fingers regardless.'
