Got the Xperia X10 Mini Pro for my friend today from Vodacom for her upgrade. It came with the Donut 1.6 firmware and it was shit shit shit.
First thing, charged the phone full, plugged it into the PC and installed Eclair 2.1
It became a fantastic phone.
Donut on the X10 Mini Pro is awful. For a small screen like that there is no room for error.Sluggish and heavy.Put on 2.1 and that thing flies.

I bought the e63 of the internet for R500 it was sealed in the box still when I got it.the only prob I had with the kit was that nokia didn't provide people with the software or usb cables to hook up your phone to the pc. if you buy the phone new now you pay like R1600 and if you buy the cable and software loos you pay extra R200 at vodacom thats then R1800 even though you can download the pc suite for free of the nokia website anyhow my point is if you pay 1600 and 200 for the cables you might just aswell buy the blackberry for R1999 that phone is much better anyways

Ya boet, I'm quite selective as to what stuff of theirs that I listen to. Some of their stuff really does qualify for the 'must try harder' category.

Must try harder category doesnt even come into the picture for me.Some of their stuff falls in the ' This belongs in the bin category.' Experimental garbage. Some songs youve got that definite Cure sound but with Robert Smith wailing in the background non-sensibly like his intestines are falling out his stomach.Hate it when bands get bored and want to tinkle round with something new that is so against the grain to the formula that brought them success.

Downloaded Sisters Of Mercy London Live.Wow! How I would love to see that band live.It was quite recent so they are getting on there in years but the albums fantastic. His deep voice and the heavy bass fight it out so you gotta fiddle a bit with your equalizer settings to get a balanced lisrening experience.Love their classics and the way they alter it for the Live experience.Great band.

Saw them live in London in '98 methinks....very good but took some getting used to (the live versions compared to the recorded stuff). Haven't heard much about/from them recently. ** must go and have a look at their website for nostaglia sakes, he says to himself .....**

Did any of you Vodacom subscribers have problems calling or receiving calls yesterday the whole day till the evening? I experienced that with both my numbers until around 8 o'clock, strange part was I could use the internet without any problems. This experience has made me decide to port one of my numbers to either Cell C or MTN when the contract runs out, I don't want to be left stranded like that again. Imagine if I were in an emergency situation. What if the network is down for longer than a day? Disturbing stuff.

Okay Hobbs.

Where's Tsepz_GP when one needs him? Maybe it was my area only, probably Vodacom doing some repairs or service.

Still I'm porting one number to be safe. My other contract ends in April next year and it is definitely going to either MTN or Cell C, I just need to research these two to see who gives me better value.

Been a bit scarce as I've been so busy with bike-related thingies in the evenings. One of the bike charities here used my delightful rat bike to further attract attention at the London Motorcycle Show this weekend. Thing is, several companies (including bike insurance ones) saw it as an opportunity to draw further attention together with their promo chicks. Before you knew it, they were around the stand for 'beauty and the beast'-type pics, and guys were taken plenty of photos as you can imagine... the male species is so easy to lure... :
