K750 / W800 Firmware Overview |

When R1N035 came out, i was able to update my Orange K750i after a week of the firmware being released. I noticed the odd problem with the firmware but nothing major.
Any way last week I connected my phone again just to see if the software had been updated again and to my supprise the phone downloaded some software. Any way i never thought no more of it. Come to look at my phone and found that my phone had been downgraded to R1L002. Strange. Any way after a week of retrying to update my phone and it constantly saying that my phone is up to date. Tonight it started to dowload again and update my phone.
Any way i now have R1N035. But I have noticed one thing different. Orange never ever let you change the number for voice mail. On the first R1N035 the preset could be changed. Now that menu has gone. So i persume i have revision B ? Is this true. Havnt noticed anything else changed. |

Yeah, it asked me before about the USB Flash drivers. Until I downloaded them off the SE site, then when I tried the process, it never asked me then, and I know that I haven't installed them properly yet.
Hmm thanks, I'll try what you said.

Can somebody advise me on how to download W800's software on K750i. I want to have "Radio OFF" feature in my cellphone. Also, if there is any problem I may face after software upgrade n possible solutions to the same.
CHEERS !!!

Well how to is all over this forum and about possible set backs after that change from K750i to W800i look here

It is my opinion that its cheaper to buy a w800i and then swap the casing for a K750i than the other way around if you prefer the looks of the K750i but the functions of the w800i

I haven't had time to follow the progress of this issue that much lately. Can someone just answer my simple question: Is it now possible to upgrade to R1N without risking MS-duo, and other problems? Are all the bugs fixed?
Thanks |

No there are risk left, and the bug with the MS duo can came up on your phone.
So wait until next release if you are afraid. |

R1N is R1N, so if there is some bugs they will be there until SE release new fixed version, for example R1O or R1P, new "revisions" of R1N firmware only fixed customization problems, but not bugs in firmware, like memory stick bug and other... |

Hi
I recently got an Orange K750i last week along with the HBH-610 bluetooth headset.
The problem is that my headset continuously drops connection whilst on a call which is really annoying. I am thinking of returning the headset as I've now read that other people have experienced same problems with it.
Anyway, my phone is currently on R1L software. Do you think if I upgraded the firmware to R1N, this might fix this drop connections problem?
Any help would be appreciated. |

I just upgraded my Swedish unbranded W800i from R1N035 to R1NA005 via SEUS and the UK location on the site. It now also says CDA102430/ 12 R2A if that means anything to you. I didn't check the CDA before this upgrade but I guess that doesn't change.
Have no idea yet if the MSduo corruption problem is solved. I did notice that bug a couple of times transfering files that never showed up in the phone and I just today suddenly lost all the pictures in one folder (wich was the pics I used for contacts, appr 50 pics...)

Hang on to the headset - mine works fine on other phones. I'd say a forthcoming firmware will fix this issue, keep your eye on these forums for proof first! Besides, any other BT headset will be rubbish as well - my HBH-610 is WAY better than my Bluetrek G2 was with my w800i... |

Do we know if the K750 will see R1NA005 or if SE will move us to a newer release? |

I've had R1NA for a few days and had quite a few problems with it that I didnt with R1N035.
I have formatted memory stick after installing new firmware as all my files had disappeared.
Some files that have uploaded to phone don't actually appear on the phone, Tones and Themes,
Pictures saved to memory stick have no small preview image.
Some music videos refuse to play.
Blank white screen then phone resets when playing video files.
Used dic2phone to add mp3's completed on pc but when looked on phone had only added about10 tracks.
Anyone else had any problems, I'm on o2 uk?

Hmm im puzzled, annoyed and tired of this firmware crap. We should (in my dreams) form a strong consumer organisation and push the manufacturers to only release finished products!
Just upgraded my W800i to R1NA005 and that off course didnīt solve my issue with the hissing, crappy sound that i hear when i listen to soft songs with my mp3 player on low volyme....bah! |
