they need to shelf the Z line up for now since the numbering has has pretty much gone off the rail and design has minimal changes and come out with new flagship, given up water proofing if they have to. reintroduce the new Z line up again when they actually have something fresh to show. |

he heat issues confirmed with Sony's eagerly-anticipated flagship models - the Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3+ were the more or less the final nail in the coffin of Qualcomm's flagship SoC.
It's also the the more or less the final nail in the coffin of Hold This Cat as well as Sony Mobile. One will be bought out by ASUS and the other will be forced to shut down within a year. It's get in bed with MS or die for Sony at this stage, and I think, as true samurai, they will, undoubtedly, select the way of death |

Blackberry, HTC, Sony, all once great mobile companies are having difficult times, which may true have their last years to the industry if they don't do some radical changes on the way they do business.
Well, as for sony, Sony mobile wouldn't die suddenly. It would retreat first to its home market just like other japanese brands.
But just my two cents, out of those three, I think Sony can save themselves independently. |

Heckle yeah, Sony must work hard, and innovate more like the days they used to back then. I missed the old Sony who is amazing, almost beat nokia in sales and everything. I think Sony have much much more potential than HTC, especially BlackBerry on resurrect and get that amazingly far better future. But if they're not taking advantage of their potential to back on track and kill every phones out there, they could go down. way way down. I'm just afraid that they'll go bankrupt or get bought by other companies, because it wouldn't be 'Sony' again, and i'll be confused of what will I buy for future products. I just hate Samsung, LG, and others, Samsung on its price and waterproofness, LG on its tacky, cheesy, yet kid-ish UI and everything, HTC on its price too, and I just can't take others, can't..
back to rumours...
is it possible that they delay their supposed 'E68xx' where supposed to be next Z Ultra, 'E67xx', supposed to be Z5, and 'E58xx', supposed to be Z5 compact? because that naming is for 2015, where 2016 will use Fxxxx. I want to buy a phone right now, and I'm afraid with Z3+'s overheating and battery, so Z3 is still worth the money for me. But still, I'm afraid I'll kill myself after IFA when something will come out.. So I'm confused in S*** right now on when and what to buy.. Any suggestions? just Sony please, should I wait till IFA? |

One question I have right now is did it really possible to reduce the temp of SD810 by software update ?
Reducing the clock is make senses but how much it can do ?
I will looking forward to see what's SONY can do with it. |

Sony is playing the name change game. There won't be a Z4 phone. The three flagships in fall will be the Z5 lineup

If they limit the cpu clock and earlier throttling then yes, the temperature can be reduced but at the same time the performance will decrease as well. Basically feels like Sony will be underclocking the SoC. |

The verizon logo is so tacky, it burns the eyes. It looks like the sides are plastic?
What is interesting is the asymmetrical bezels at the top and bottom, looks weird and I'd prefer the bezels on the Z3+. Wonder how the battery life will be with the QHD screen. In white here
