Just to let you know people on Esato arn't usually accustomed to believing bold statements like that one at face value!
Would be great if it were true tho, that would be JUST early enough for me to consider it again - even as a self confessed SE fanboy i'd narrowed down my next phone to be either iphone 3g, samsung i900 or touch pro.
And to think i had already set my sights on the X1 in Feb - isn't it strange what can happen in 5 months...

Yup ... people on esato don't believe in statements whether bold or not, but they certainly believe in utter nonsense when it comes to the fore.

Micks2005,
Where did you get that info from? I want to believe you but there have been a lot of "statements" about a release date of the X1 so far. Just curious... |

Currently am in India. I'm going to leave for states for 6 months in august. I want to know if Xperia is going to be out in september that means I am going to get X1a in US market and as far as my knowldege there is no video recording in X1a and it does lack other features, is it true? or whats the difference between X1i and X1a. I have read about it but just want to confirm if I have left out something.
T200 -> T68i -> T610 -> K700i -> P910i -> W800i -> P990i -> M600i -> P1-> Nokia E71 -> X1i -> X10 -> Arc S -> Sony Z1 -> Sony Z Ultra -> Sony Z3+ -> iPhone 6 -> iPhone 7 Plus -> iPhone X -> iPhone XS Max |

Hi ... Sep is the release date .. i'll post the link for it shorlty so you can see also.
X1 -> Sep
C905 -> Oct
The difference between X1i and X1a is the 1st variant is for international use and the 2nd variant is for the America's.
i = international
a = americas
c = china
the 3 variants of SE fones.
As well it has video recording in all variants and it records in VGA format @ 30Fps, High Definition Rec.

ofcourse i know i stands for international and so on..
what i meant was features.. well there you go 24fps in X1a and I would love to know why? what makes X1a different to X1i international. My idea is, if I buy X1i from India and I take it to US, what difference does it make?

Its because of a lawsuit lost by Qualcomm against Broadcomm regarding some video encoding stuff, the ruling was in favour of Broadcomm due to patent infringement by Qualcomm only in the US, thats why any phone with the Qualcomm MSM7200 processor has to use a work around while outside the US(MSM7201 and MSM7201A) they can use the "normal" MSM7200 and MSM7200A processors.

So where is the link??. I'll go for the release of C905 in October but when it's conserning the X1 I have doubts......
On SE web shop they have C905 for sale in October but still not put a date for the X1. It says "tba". I would love to have it in September but I think more like December. Remeber the P990.....

@Indiandawg:
It depends on where you are going to be. The models have different frequency bands. There is a chance the X1i won't work in some areas, whereas the X1a will probably work all over the U.S.
You'll have to check the AT&T frequency maps. I'm going to get the X1i (to gain the extra video performance) because my area has the necessary frequencies.

It would be great if X1 would be released in September... In my opinion it's rather immpossible. I think that the software is not ready to be released so soon...

Software?
But the experts on here say SE really has little to do with the X1 other than branding. It's a full HTC device.
Could it be that SE is actually working on X1 software? |
