Talking about food: El-Rufai is knocking -off all Corner Shops including the one behind me office area (Area 11). I went to eat in what used to be my fave joint, a calabar woman called Heleno. Poundy and Afang soup. Yum! When the Bulldozers come, WHERE WILL I GO? |

Coolapostle: No vex. I'm just not a photograph kinda guy. Its a rather unusual request don't you think but like you say maybe its just me. No offence meant.
Regarding the forth anniversary, I think a more stable network with much higher call completion and reception is a more equitable boon to their subscribers rather than this rash of lotteries or what do you guys think. Unless you win ofcourse

@egunje: Honestly, with the amount of money I have spent on Glo GPRS - plus the publicity I have done for them free of charge till date - I just must win one of those cars! My Nissan needs a replacement

The Glo competition is kinda vague. The vmobile one is more straight forward: load 15 k and qualify. MTNs own is just bringing back flexi to the masses. Any latest subscriber numbers? I am guessing Glo is at 3.5 m from the promo.

But the biggest development, imho, is the completion of Glo fibreoptic backbone. The ring brotf Naija is now complete and bandwidth is being sold via Glo Xpress. If Glo is ever to beat MTN as some of us predict, THIS IS THE WMD THAT WILL DO IT. Reactions pls!

@adeprince: Welcome to PN! What were the letdowns you experienced with SE?
@coola: The fibre-optic thing is real value for connectivity in Naija. NITEL has already lost some clients to GloXpress. Like I always say, nothing beats competition. However, I am not sure that the fibre-optic ring directly adds any subscribers to GloMobile. The predictions were between MTN & GloMobile as GSM operators, I believe. GloXpress is another turf - SNO.

Welcome Prince Ade. Are u related to king sunny ade? :-) hehheh. Anyway, Glo mobile will use the bandwidth of Glo X and be able take on millions of subs without crashing. Thats what I mean. I figure MTN has a 1 million sub lead right now.

@coola: I see how you mean. Is Glo really that close up behind MTN now?! That sounds fabulous.

The reason i got myself a glo line even when everyobne thot Glo was a letdown was the fact that I was way ahead with enuf info on their potentials which is still not yet exploited up to 50%.
I must say that I'm really proud of them.@AYA, can u pls educate us on the REAL differences btw a Centrino processor and the Pentium M series (Laptops). Tanx AYA |

Fibre optic takes the cake when compared to micro wave and satellite. When the networks first came they opted for satellite but as they settled down, they are supposed to go for fibre if they really loved us. But MTN and V went for micro wave while Glo decided to dig. And now they have succeeded! Up Glo! Expect a major promo that will add 1 million subs soon, maybe by xmas.
